As a group, the members of futures.io (formerly BMT) are a very generous group of people. THANK YOU GUYS!!
I wanted to start this thread just to keep track of the generosity of everyone here on futures.io (formerly BMT) with regards to the various charities we've helped since our forum began June 2009.
I will also use this thread to keep track of the various contests and prizes we've given away to our members to show our appreciation for all their support to futures.io (formerly BMT)!
I'm going to start digging up some past charity info and contests, it may take me a while to try to remember everything.
I will try to go in chronological order, but I am afraid that I've forgot some of the charities in the past two years. I should have started this thread sooner.
BTW, before I start - if you guys have suggestions on some charities, please let me know.
From this post until Saturday January 23rd, all donations received by nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) will be 100% sent to Haiti for the relief effort underway there.
You will receive VIP access, as always, …
We donated $670 in total. $300 went to Red Cross, $240 to Doctors Without Borders, and $130 to Habitat for Humanity. The forum was only six months old but we already had a great crowd of some very generous people.
We gave away four free Elite Memberships, one free Lifetime License of NinjaTrader, one free Lifetime License of MultiCharts, three free DTN IQfeed prizes for 3 months of free data feed services, 100 commission free trades from Mirus Futures, and five free autographed copies of Al Brooks book Reading Price Charts Bar By Bar.
P.S. I'm already working on some prizes and giveaways for our 2-year anniversary
We gave away five prizes in total, including: (1) Asus 24" 1080p LCD monitor, (1) $100 Amazon Gift Card, (1) $50 Amazon Gift Card, (2) $25 Amazon Gift Cards.
You will see once again how generous nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) members are! Several members wanted me to give their prizes to charity.
In November 2010, for Thanksgiving here in the United States, we had a donation drive.
In two days we raised $450 which was donated to the Feeding America charity. The donation was enough to help feed 9 families through the holiday season.
I will be donating all new Elite Membership monies received between now and the end of Thanksgiving Day (Thr, Nov 25th) to the Feeding America charity (. I know most Americans are fat, myself included, but the fact is there …
Our newest contest will start on March 1st 2011, and we will be giving away an iPad or your choice of a $600 tablet. The winner will be based on who maintains the best trading journal on nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) during the month of March.
I would like to make a donation to Official Site - Save the Children through futures.io (formerly BMT). Your forum helped me in my trading, and not only, therefore I would like to dedicate part of my profits in favor of somebody who really needs it. Please hurry before the market takes them back... Should you decide for an alternative donation I will make it directly to their website, but i think together we can achieve a bigger step in helping a child, they are our future. Should you decide for the donation I will support you and dedicate any time to help the process. It would be nice to apply the sponsor a child option How It Works - Save the Children and track the life and emprovments of the child.
Forgot to note in this thread that the iPad journaling contest ended and @MWinfrey was the winner. Still waiting for him to post a photo holding his iPad 2.
