Hey guys,
I want to put together several polls in the coming weeks so that in December everyone can cast their votes for the "best of trading", a series that I intend to hold each year going forward.
I will then place these polls on the forum home pages during December and will update this thread with the results at the end of the year.
But why have you not included a category for 'Paid For' Trading Rooms?
I appreciate issues about promoting commercial vendors, but you do have categories for best broker and best data feed etc which are commercial endeavours.

That's what this thread is for -- I'll listen to everyones comments for new categories and in the case of a paid trading room category, I'll read everyone's posts that are for or against the idea.
I vote ninja trader as the red headed step child award for the year. I think this is a valid vote since maybe they will finally realize there are customers in their business model

[*]futures.io (formerly BMT) Member Of The Year----> Fat Tails
he has contributed to this community in a BIG way by developing and sharing indicators that are GREAT for reference areas (regardless of specific methods) and adding labels and visual references helping make our charts more SIMPLE to read.
[*]futures.io (formerly BMT) Member Of The Year----> ZTR
he has contributed with his big knowledge on price reading, shared a lot of videos trying to show us how he reads the DOM and he is a live example and motivation of how to fight with adverstity (and possitive attitude), which is something we experience in trading since we start on this business.

Great idea with this survey / vote Mike,
I would stay away from the "Best Paid for Trading Room" category for many reasons as well.
At least for the next ten to twenty years or so, and then re-evaluate it.
"Best Free Trading Room" should work I think.
It will be interesting to see the results.
Thanks
Ron

i agree with Steve on this.
many "for pay" trading rooms have merit and are worth mentioning to get feedback from members who have used them as a means of gauging their subjective worth.
i would like to hear from other members about their experiences using the rooms.
but if this idea is included there needs to be subcategories because some rooms trade only eminis while other trade stocks, etc.

Starting on Wednesday Dec 1st, there will be multiple polls on the site to let you guys vote in each of the categories. I have used the nominations you made here, as well as added several of my own.
The voting will continue until Dec 31st, and the winners will be announced January 1st.
"Merit" is a broad term thats needs to be defined into smaller units ie: most seemingly logical approach, most entertaining(yes there are some good ones who make it fun to lose ur money, most obnoxious ,did I make money, most hocus pocus?...
Overall no room can beat the 95% loser, of ur money odds, if thats the only measure, this will be a short or no list..
Those running the room have better odds.
here is my greatest
most entertaining: " Billy" IOAM
most seemingly logical approach: backtothefuture
most expensive: Viper
least expensive: Woodies CCI
biggest dud: Felton trading, TradeMaven
most obnoxious : any room with a "BRIT" or pet trader

I have dropped a few categories due to lack of interest.
Below is the list as it stands now.
If you have any last minute nominations for winners in each category, make them now. On Dec 1st I will put the official polls up and they will not be changed after.
Congrats to all of the winners. There are some amazing people here. And thanks to Mike and his moderators for curating the quality of the content and the personality of the community.
thank you very much for the two awards. I am glad that some of my contributions were useful to others and that I was allowed to hand back something in return for the tools, knowledge, and experience that are available here.
The single most important reason that I am an active user is the familiarity that has itself established between the members. Big Mike's is simply more personal and more fun than any other trading forum.
A big thank you to @Big Mike for his active and personal involvement, which makes this forum outstanding.
My personal vote for the futures.io (formerly BMT) member of the year went to Andy. Although I never understood, how he managed to read the DOM, he impressed me with his attitude and courage. I will remember him.

On behalf of everyone at NinjaTrader, LLC, we thank all the members who voted for our NinjaTrader trading platform honoring us with 1st place in both the “Futures Platform Of The Year” and “Stock/Options Platform Of The Year”. In addition, we are enthralled to learn that Kinetick, a market data service we only recently launched in 2010 was recognized as 3rd place in the category “Futures Data Feed Of The Year”. Thanks to those members who voted for Kinetick.
We are extremely grateful for the acknowledgement and will continue to work hard to deliver a great trading experience for the years to come.
