Hi guys,
futures io is challenging members to create the best NinjaTrader indicators and share them to our "Downloads" section, for a chance to win some prizes!
Why NinjaTrader
I am specifically calling for NinjaTrader indicators at this time. I realize there are plenty of members that use other great platforms, and we will include them soon in future challenges. For this particular challenge, we are focusing only on NinjaTrader 8 indicators.
How to add your indicator to our "Downloads" area
First, export your indicator in NinjaTrader to a zip file. Keep in mind that we do not permit closed source (DLL) indicators to be uploaded -- we only allow indicators where the full code is open to all, for safety and for the ability to easily modify and customize them.
If you need help exporting your indicator from NinjaTrader, please go ahead and ask in this thread.
Second, once you have the ZIP file, you'll need to take a screenshot of your NinjaTrader chart that contains the indicator example that you wish to share with other members. If you need help taking the screenshot, please ask in this thread. JPG and PNG is welcome.
(Optional) If your indicator would benefit from a discussion thread on the site, feel free to create a new thread that talks about the indicator. You should probably do that before submitting your indicator, so you can grab the URL for the thread, and add that to the description of the indicator so others may quickly jump to your thread.
Third, you need to Add to our Download section. Click this link to go directly to the Add Entry to NinjaTrader 8 Indicator page:
From this location, put the details of your indicator into the form and then when finished, click submit. You'll add the name of the indicator, a description, keywords (like EMA, ADR, Order Flow, Volume Profile), you'll upload the ZIP file from your computer, and you'll upload the screenshot of your chart as the image.
Don't worry about the other fields -- just leave them alone and at default values.
Last, click Submit at the bottom of the form to add the indicator to our site. Congrats! We appreciate your submission and sharing.

We will award three prizes for this specific event.
Only new indicators submitted after today will be considered.
Winners will be selected based on popularity -- determined by the number of comments/ratings the indicator receives. We cannot measure based on downloads, as it is too easy to cheat. So we measure based on number of comments/ratings each indicator receives, as it's common for people to rate the indicator they download. We ask you to be honest!
This specific event will run with an end date at the discretion of the moderator team here at futures io. In other words, we will review the new uploads, popularity, how many individuals have participated, how long the event has run, and use our best discretion to determine when a fair date would be to end the event.
Based on this, don't delay with your uploads! You are free to upload more than one indicator!
Prizes:
First place = $150 Amazon Gift Card
Second place = $100 Amazon Gift Card
Third place = $50 Amazon Gift Card
One prize per member. futures io reserves all judgment on how to award prizes or declare winners.
Thank you guys! Looking forward to seeing what you share...
I know you said the length of the contest will be up to the discretion of the mods... but do you think the time horizon might be on the order of weeks or months? Just curious?

Not a programmer?
No problem. You can still help! When you download an indicator from our site, please take the time to review/comment on it. The feedback helps the programmers, and it will also enable them to be one of the winners of this challenge!
This is a BETTER bar timer for NT.
This does the same thing the standard bar-timer that ships with NT does, except its better. :becky:
You can customize this one to be as subtle or obnoxious as you want it to be.
FONT CONTROL: It will allow you …
Newsletter going out to feature it, as will happen with all eligible indicators. Give me time to get to your upload.
Trading: 6C (Low Margin,) 6E, CL, GC, ES and Maybe DX for smaller tick value

@forrestang, Any chance you can modify the bar timer to count up the time bars are active for bars like renko, unirenko, etc... so you can see how stale they are in chop zones? If you see a large time - step away do not play.
I'd rather it be a NEW indie if I were going to tackle that project. The bartimer I made is already quite bloated.
Is there already such an indie in existence, and what you'd just like is the better customization, or is this an idea you haven't seen implemented anywhere yet?
