Hi guys,
Continuing in the tradition of encouraging journals on FIO, I am announcing a new Journal Challenge for June 2020.
Prizes:
Free fully-featured SharkIndicators BloodHound license, valid until Nov 15 2020, to ALL members who ask for a license in this thread.
Top three journals as chosen by members will also each receive $500 store credit in the SharkIndicators store for any purchase of their choice.
How-to participate:
The author of a journal can enter his/her futures io journal into the contest by posting a link to his/her journal in this thread.
If you want a free SharkIndicators BloodHound license (valid until Nov 15 2020), make a post in this thread saying: "I want to be a BloodHound!" and @SharkIndicators will issue a license for you.
How winners are chosen:
Members cast their votes for the best journals by using the "Thanks" button on any of the posts in the journal. Votes are calculated by looking at the number of "Thanks Received" cast during the event. Any post within the journal are eligible, the calculation is based on the date the "Thanks" are given.
Rules:
The contest begins June 1 and ends June 30. All decisions made by futures io are final.
This thread that you are reading right now will act as the repository for all journals that are entered into the contest.
To keep it fair for everyone, you are only eligible to win a prize in this event if you have not won any futures io prize during the last three events.
Thank you to our sponsor!
Thank you to @SharkIndicators for sponsoring this event. You can ask questions about their program here, and get answers directly from Zac, the Co-Founder of SharkIndicators:
Jeremy Tang, Founder of SharkIndicators, and Keith Wolf, Support at SharkIndicators, will be monitoring this thread so that they may answer any questions that you post here relating to SharkIndicator's products and services.
SharkIndicators has …
What is SharkIndicators BloodHound?
Bloodhound is a user programmable indicator based on fuzzy logic. It takes observations from price action, indicator behavior and other factors as inputs and allows you to design custom logic constructs using logic templates to arrive at a calculated output. With BloodHound you can encode the behavior of any system, setup, filter or trade signal.
BloodHound is a blank canvas – how you use it and how you configure it is entirely up to you. It is a powerful fuzzy logic calculator that has no limits on how complex your logic specifications may be. It allows you to define the inputs, and you define how they are used to arrive at a result.
My goal with these contests is to encourage the journaling process, as I firmly believe the more you participate in the journal process, the better trader you will become.
Getting started with BloodHound:
Please visit this website for quick start videos on getting started with BloodHound:
In addition, for Elite Members, SharkIndicators has two special offers* -- $150 discount off BloodHound, or $250 off BlackBird, using this special link:
I want to point out that we have changed the calculation method for our Challenge Events. We've made it easier, by calculating the winners with a new method:
Members cast their votes for the best journals by using the "Thanks" button on any of the posts in the journal. Votes are calculated by looking at the number of "Thanks Received" cast during the event. Any post within the journal are eligible, the calculation is based on the date the "Thanks" are given.
The last part is the major change from older events. This change will make it simpler to cast your votes, and it makes more sense this way as well. Just follow the link of the journal from this thread, and cast your "Thanks" as you normally would within that thread. Any post in the journal thread is eligible, the calculation is based on the date you cast your "Thanks".

In exchange for this free fully-featured license, which will expire Nov 15 2020, SharkIndicators asks that you journal your experiences while using BloodHound. They want to see how you will be using it, so you need to include a link to your journal in your post.

This Journal Challenge event and the Charity Drive are related, please read below.
All of us have been affected by COVID-19. But here in Ecuador, things are truly desperate. The number of homeless and/or hungry families on the street has skyrocketed in recent weeks.
The government is unable to provide any resources to assist these people. The government has stopped paying all salaries to nearly every government entity. There are no pensions being paid. There are no medical benefits being honored.
All typical commerce is almost entirely shutdown, in fact the country has been in complete lockdown where there is a curfew and very strict restrictions on when and who can leave their house.
There is no place for many people to find work, and some of them simply are not surviving and are falling through the cracks. The cracks, in fact, have become enormous.
We're going to help
For the month of June, futures io is running a Journal Challenge contest. What I want to do is tie in with that event, and donate ten meals for every new journal that is created/posted to on FIO during June. This will be donated by my wife and I, on behalf of the members of futures io. If you wish to help personally, please see below.
So at the end of June, we will calculate how many journals participated in the event, and then we'll purchase the food and distribute it to those that are most in need (on the streets).
My wife and I started a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organized called Oasis Americas last year. This is our charity specifically for helping those in need, both in North America and South America.
We will be accepting additional donations from anyone on futures io that wishes to donate towards this cause. All donations are tax deductible, and will go entirely towards the purchase of food for those in need, in this case to those here in Ecuador that we can safely reach and handout meals to.
We will follow-up in this thread to provide updates on the amount of food we've donated from the journal event, as well as additional donations received.
If you wish to donate, you can do so here using PayPal:
All trades will be on my live account, using real money. The current market condition is still not optimal for trading, but I have noticed some spots where I could make a quick tick. I would also like to participate in getting Big Mike to donate and help …

There was quite high volatility today in the AUS200 I was not really expecting it. The S&P500 had been bullish in the overnight session making an all-time high today the AUS200 has been in a three day balance. My daily plan was to target 5786 and maybe …

I thought I would join the Journal Challenge contest and start a journal to participate in Big Mike's donation to help the poor people of Ecuador in these hard and uncertain times.
If I would end up being one of the first three journals chosen I would like to, if possible, sell the $500 SharkIndicators store credit to the highest bidder here on FIO. The money will go directly to Big Mike's organization 'Oasis Americas' to help the people of Ecuador. I feel I am behind because I must compete with older journals who have a lot of posts already. But anyway, here's the link to my journal:

When you leave a message here we'll actually send you a sign up link where you can input your journal link there. But do feel free to put your journal link in your post so others can see it - it might just help your chances of winning the contest!
Thanks Airsoftor, those are also great indicators. One of the fantastic things about trading is that everyone has a idea which combination of indicators work best for them in trading, and often their opinions change and evolve overtime with experience. BloodHound isn't a single indicator per-se, but allows you to combine the readings of many indicators together (as well as many other factors) to achieve a custom designed signal for yourself.
Think of it like a programmable signal. It evolves with you as you evolve.
Let's say for example you needed to see a conditions for these 3 indicators, like the MACD slope agreeing with the direction you intend to trade + the MACD Diff histogram above/below a 0+ price above/below the Parabolic SAR for the last 5 bars. You could "program" this condition in BloodHound and it would mark your chart up with instances where these three indicators all exhibited these conditions simultaneously.
Then say, in a few days you decide to switch it up and tweak the criteria for your Parabolic SAR, say making it the last 4 bars, plus you wanted to introduce another criteria using an entirely different indicator. You can switch it up quickly in and BloodHound would re-calculate your new signals in realtime.
If the MACD Historgram, Parabolic Sar and MACD's were paint brushes, BloodHound is like a canvas.
(For one thing I don't have the money and I have no doubt its an awesome indicator that I would never figure out. I also found Adaptive Moving Average - Double Smoothed rocks. For momentum and diection I sometimes us Slow moving average)
If you want to participate in the journal contest, you will need to post a link in this thread to your trade journal on futures.io, so people will be able to follow you there.
(You don't need to be in the journal contest to receive the free license.)

I am back for another journal challenge and am looking forward to making this the year that my trading dream finally comes true. I have been so close for so long. However, my career has been very good to me over the last several years, as well, which has been a huge blessing to me and my family.
