Funded trading account challenge. Watch me earn a funded account.

Good day,

I started my journal and then saw this post. I thought that I would share. I am current doing an experiment to earn a funded account. My rules are simple. Trade my plan and try not to deviate. I am a scalper and a good one too. I am also burdened with having to trade during Australian hours in a dead market.

Check it out and follow me on my journey. When (not if) I become funded I will PM each person that posts on my journal my trading plan and a link to a "how to"video. There is nothing to buy, no website to visit (other than futures.io of course). Good trading everyone.

Best journal for futures?

HI all, I'm not sure if this is the right spot to put this, but I've decided to invest in a better journal. I was about to get edgewonk, but I figured out it doesn't calculate your profit/ loss on futures (only stocks) and I know this will tick me off (stupid, really, as any spreadsheet can be set up to do that easily!)

So I'm looking for suggestions of journals you futures traders like. Something I can buy outright for a reasonable price. And, ideally, it will calculate your profit loss off your entry and exit.

Thanks in advance
Jill

Hi Big Mike,

Once again, thank you for having these trader Journal Challenge contests on a regular basis. As I mentioned to you, I strongly believe these journal challenges help folks like myself become better, more disciplined, and eventually more profitable traders.

Lots and lots of kudos to you!

Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude & thanks to all the folks here that granted me with their 'Thank you' votes. Thank you for the votes and for your participation in my journal. I enjoyed this exercise immensely!

Please accept my entry to the FIO Journal Challenge – November 2018 edition.

Sounds like fun and am excited to share my journal. Hopefully it will be an educational as well as a profitable endeavor.

Brief background: For the longest time, I have always heard from traders here @ FIO, and other venues as well, that using volume/market profile was an important and vital component to trading. However, most, if not all, the VP/MP literature out there seems to be way too complicated, at least for me, to use in my daily trading. And the set-ups are vague and simply not practical, IMO. Then I found Trader Dale’s Volume Profile webinar on YouTube which illustrated a few simple volume profile trade set-ups that made practical sense to me. Note: I provide a link to Dale's YouTube webinar in my journal. And no, am not affiliated with Trader Dale whatsoever.

So, long story short, I applied one of Dale’s set-ups, the Trend Volume Accumulation Setup, to see if might work for intraday trading using uniRenko bars for instruments like CL, GC, and HG. Note that Dale’s trading focus is on Forex and currency futures. I loaded up 6 months of backtesting data and gave it a whirl. Well, my back-test results were pretty good…almost too good to be true, quite frankly.

Okay, so now is a good time as any to prove whether I was simply fooling myself here and give the set-up a test drive in live environment. Hope you will join me and see if all this back-testing effort will work out or simply another ‘egg on my face’ trading exercise, LOL!

If you like what you see here, please give me a ‘Thanks’ vote, thank you.

See you folks on the ‘other’ side, here's the link to my journal:
