Hi guys,
Continuing in the tradition of encouraging journals on FIO, I am announcing a new Journal contest for July 2018.
The rules are extremely simple:
a) The contest begins July 1 and ends July 31. All decisions made by futures io are final.
b) This thread that you are reading right now will act as the repository for all journals that are entered into the contest.
c) The author of a journal can enter his/her futures io journal into the contest by posting a link to his/her journal in this thread. Only the author of the journal can do this. Please post the link to the journal ONE TIME, AND ONE TIME ONLY in this thread.
d) Members of futures io will cast their votes for the best journals by using the "Thanks" button on the post that the journal author has made in this very thread. This is why it is very important the author of the journal make only one post, because only one post will be used to count the total number of "Thanks Received" in this thread, and that is how the winners will be decided. Members can vote for as many separate journals as they want by following the same procedure.
e) There will be four prizes awarded, based on the highest number of "Thanks Received" per the above. The prizes are all equal -- a $125 Amazon Gift Card, delivered by email to the four winners of the challenge. The total prizes awarded will be $500.00.
Thank you to FIO Site Sponsors NinjaTrader and Stage 5 Trading for sponsoring this event. Please show your support to these sponsors by visiting their website (below) and by requesting your exclusive Elite Member discount offer from here:
NinjaTrader offers Elite Members a $100 discount off a new lifetime multi-broker license, see above link for details.
Stage 5 Trading offers Elite Members the first 2 months of license fees FREE for select developers on S5 iSystems, see above link for details.
My goal with these contests is to encourage the journaling process, as I firmly believe the more you participate in the journal process, the better trader you will become.
If anyone has any questions, please let me know. This thread will remain closed to posts until July 1st (contest start date).
Hi futures.io (formerly BMT), not posted much since the first month - trying to get grips with futures for about a year (I have traded Forex, reasonably successfully, part-time for about 2 years). Here's some background....

In January 2018 I started my project. An automated trading system provides the signals for entry and exit to the small DAX Future FDXM. The signals are generated in the evening when the little DAX "does not want to go to bed yet". Including money and risk management. So far every trade has been documented.
It is a real money system. In the first six months of the year, the system generated about 5,000 euros.
Look at it.

Aah what the hell, I'll throw my helmet into the ring...
In a nutshell, I joined FIO back in February of last year with no experience whatsoever. Fast forward to now, I'm trading EUR/USD live (for the second time LOL) and am pretty much breakeven thus far, but feel like I'm close to making it work for real.
Hop on over, check it out, and don't forget to crush that little THANKS button down in the lower right hand corner of your screen if ya thought the trip was worthwhile
Greetings all! Finally getting around to making this first post after lurking for a month and absorbing everything in sight. Apologies in advance for the TL;DR... this is as much a record for me as it is to introduce myself to you.

Hello,
Its been awhile since I last posted any charts or even traded for that matter. Two years age I was hit by a car while ridding my bike. I suffered many injuries including broken vertebrae , leg, ribs, a concussion among others things. I have a rod in my back, which is now causing my legs to go numb. Just imagine 1000 pins at once being jabbed into you at once, the pain can be unbearable. I can now understand how people can get addicted to pain killers.
I have been trading off and on, it depends on how I feel, there are some days I can barley sit.
I will make the effort to get back into trading, and the journal contest could not have come at a better time. The contest will give me the incentive.
Here is my chart from Friday, the blue vertical line is where I entered. The Kumo break, retrace to the Kijun line and the continuation.

My system is an automated trading setup initially developed to see if I could program Sierra Charts to auto trade. Well after a bit, this is what I am doing. Based on the 930 eastern open, sell every time price goes up 3 points and buy every time price goes down 3 points. Let's see how it goes.

Currently I'm doing a One Up Trading Challenge and I'm sharing my process unfiltered here.
I've been a student of trading for a while now and at this point my trading style is very simple price action based trading, mostly what I've learned from Mack at PATS.
Right now what I'm certain of is that it is possible to trade consistently profitable and executing on an edge will get you ahead on the long run but there are days when I forget this and go mental. So most of my work at this point is to grow mentally and follow the plan unquestionably.
Best trading to you cheers

A pure price action journal. No trading of indicators or whatever - pure PA.
Honestly only for myself as I had some particular goals I wanted to become better at, but apparently beneficial to others as well.
Goals:
In realtime, jot down the the action I see while it's happening
In realtime, jot down the emotion I have when putting and pulling a trade
Become better at trading mechanically
Review my action, correct mistakes and feel more confident.
Set and track a small number of goals to work on for the next period
Make myself accountable
Also, I'm always happy to answers any questions in the journal or provide more explanations about what I'm seeing or doing.

I've been journaling here on FIO since June 2016 with a few extended breaks interspersed throughout. I trade spot forex and focus on EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, and USDCAD. My style is pure price action.
Page 1 of my journal with my introduction can be found at the link below and my recent restart this past June can be found here.
Its been a while I have been trading and FIO is my home.
I tried all the different methods in the last 3 years and now stuck to order flow trading watching price action and imbalances.
I primarily trade NQ100 futures on an intraday time frame and been good with it so far. So far in my 5 yrs of experience (Yes, that's the actual number and 3yrs on FIO), I have not been successful or even to BE since I started to look into this never-ending dilemma.
Since the beginning of the year, I found some success with my small account. June month has been very hard. The market is teaching me a lesson for my ego from recent profits and again its part of the business.
Here is my link to the journal. Hope you like what I post and if so, hit the thanks button.
Here's my submission to the contest, a little late to the party. In addition to my usual weekly updates, this month I plan to post some intraday activity also.
I just noticed that FIO is having a journal competition. In honor of the competition I decided to add some extra activity here the remainder of the month. I have been secretly running an intraday sim experimental method, and so I will begin posting …

Hi guys,
Only a few days left! There have been some great journals submitted -- way to go guys!
Please be sure to vote for your favorite journal(s) by using the "Thanks" button in THIS THREAD for the journal authors post. We will count the number of thanks received at the end of the month, and the winners will be chosen based on this.
Hello cory,
yes, that is also a possibility. But then new or younger journals would have no change.
Also, with much respect for the long-running journals, younger journals sometimes offer new and fresh ideas.

Hi guys,
Congratulations to everyone who participated in this journal challenge! I firmly believe that journaling is the single most powerful thing you can to do improve your trading, and kudos to those of you who are doing just that.
Each of you will receive a $125 Amazon Gift Card, courtesy of our sponsors NinjaTrader and Stage 5 Trading. I will be contacting you via Private Message in a moment, asking for the details necessary to award the prizes to you.
We will be having another journal contest next month, so please be on the lookout and prepare yourself
Thanks to everyone who voted - I'm humbled with the support and votes - thanks to all of you!
Starting a journal has been one of the key elements in improving my success as a trader. There's a big difference in promising yourself to never move a stop again or do crazy stuff in a mirror versus pledging the same in a public journal. It has a very different effect - a much better effect in fact. It takes time to record thoughts and views in realtime, but it has become part of my discipline routine now. I also really enjoy comments or questions about why I do stuff and how I see the market and in general it leads to great conversations - even (or especially) from those that trade in a complete different way - so be sure to keep those coming my way.
Shoutout to @bobwest, @FlyingMonkey, @Rrrracer and all other journal keepers - upmost respect for all of you.
Thanks!
