My Journal

@Big Mike,

Can I give this as a gift to a friend if I win? If Yes, I am enrolling for the contest.

@Big Mike,

Yes, we can do that.

Mike

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.

SoftSoap's Journey from SoftSoap to SoftGold

https://futures.io/trading-journals/40312-softsoap-s-nq-nasdaq-100-futures-contract-journey-softsoap-softgold.html

I started journaling last August for the last contest and it was honestly the best decision I have made in my trading career. Since starting my journal, I have become more disciplined, focused, self-aware, and I have actually turned a profit!

Here’s a glimpse as to what you can expect from my journal
  • Pre-open
    • General thoughts and key events for the day
    • Scenarios
    • Setups I’ll take
    • Psychology goals for the day
  • Post-close
    • Summary of trades taken and avoided
    • Grading trades on trades taken
    • Market sentiment thoughts on charts
    • Psychology goals for the day report card
  • End of week
    • Statistics
    • Goals for the week
    • Prep for next week
  • End of month
    • Monthly analytics
    • Things to improve on for next month
    • More and more statistics
I post screenshots every day with my thoughts in them and I welcome any and all feedback!

If you have never checked out my journal before, I’ve compiled a list of highlighted posts in the summary so you can get up to speed without going through 300 posts!

Wish you the best traders!

Yesterday's excellence is today's standard and tomorrow's mediocrity

https://futures.io/elite-trading-journals/41158-overcoming-actionism-scalpingtraders-topsteptrader-journal.html

Just today I started trading the "30.000$" live account with TopStepTrader.
Looking back at where I am coming from, it is my hope that maybe, just maybe someone can benefit from some little line of writing within my journaling. If I can shave one day of learning curve off of someones journey, I'd consider the journal a success.

Don't get me wrong though - I do the journaling mainly for the selfish reason of personal improvement (and showing off the odd winning trade )

Then again, as my selfishness knows limits, I will give the price of this contest in the unlikely event that I'll actually win.

Looking forward to everyone willing to contribute to my journey... ehm.. journal.

Cheers, ST.

@Big Mike
I believe this contest is located in the non-elite section of FIO, right? If so - would you be able to move my journal there as well?

The challenge is open to all members, but only a very small percentage of active members are non-Elite. I honestly wouldn't worry about it, plus having an Elite journal is a way to show your support for the community. But, if you want me to move it, I will, so long as there are no Elite attachments in the thread.

Very good point. We'll leave it where it is, then.

Thanks for putting this on @Big Mike and @TopstepTrader

https://futures.io/elite-trading-journals/39737-drock-s-trading-development-process.html

In my journal i tried to document as much as possible me going from totally confused to a profitable trading plan.

The reason i wanted to present my journal like this, which i feel is a little different then most was to be able to have someone like me be able to witness and more importantly be able to believe anyone can do this. I try very hard to illustrate everything that goes through my head and try not to miss anything.

It's a little weird for the 1st 10 pages and after page ten i strike a moment, i don't realize or understand what it is but i know something has changed. I started trying to capture what ever it was by recording myself and soon enough i had a good idea what changed for the better and from page 10 to current i try to document as much as possible how and what my light bulb moment was.

Thanks for viewing and any votes

Also @Big Mike I currently have passed my combine and im doing ok in the FTP, If i pass the FTP and by chance happen to win one of the combines would i also be able to pick someone else if Im able to pass my ftp?
