Personally, the site looks very good. I am new to your site. I am often not on my computer. When I went to explore the site on my Android, I was not allowed access on the app unless I was an elite member. I was honestly slightly offended that I couldn't use the app to explore the site while away from my computer to quantify the benefit. The price isn't too much but it is significant enough to walk away because I can not access the site the way I prefer. no access to app, was my major negative. .. Prior to paying, I want to use the app since that is how I would primarily access the site. Thank you for your work. By the of the day, i honestly don't want to sit in front of my computer AGAIN, to explore the site (i also have eye problems.

Thank you,

Thank you,

I like Tapatalk too, the older versions anyway. But it is only for Elite Members and that won't be changing.

Try using a tablet or laptop and a regular browser instead to get familiar with the site

I think I owed a post giving reasons for my leaving this site.

BM I still think this is the best site on the web that I have participated in and I gave it a pretty fair test having journaled here for about 9 months.

It was clear from the get-go that I was in a huge minority here but in my probably arrogant way of thinking I thought I could carve a niche here for the Long term trader... especially for those trading Canadian stocks...I was not opposed to discussions about American stocks and attempted to do so several times but seemed to ruffle feathers in the process.

I defended journaling on this site here for those that have not seen this post

It describes much of my feelings about being on this site.

But as to being an "elite" member...I saw no point to this.

All the advantages of such a membership were meaningless to me. I have no interest in the trading indicator downloads...I cannot see the so-called elite journals so it was difficult to judge their contents but the titles did not describe anything related to long term trading that I could see when I looked at the available new posts that scrolled by.

To be frank the tipping point for me was this set of conversations on so-called NEWS

this type of news is spread liberally through the "Stocks and ETFS" section.

the implication that traders want to read this fluff makes me smile. I mean this was nothing more than financial National Enquirer type articles. I did not just say that these articles were useless..... I also SHOWED evidence to support my position.

It important .... especially for a newbie, to discriminate between useful hard information and marketing fluff. There are a lot of so-called market analysts on this continent but the good ones are not anonymous, they don't revise their "forecasts" after 10 days and not say why and I could go on....

there was no interest in learning how to spot such dicey advice by the original poster and no interest to do anything but being Johnny Appleseed spreading such stories around with no critical comment.

So I ask myself.... how does this HELP the trader...especially the newbie that cannot judge this stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I do read the National Enquirer...but if I had a weight problem, I would never take an article in that media as gospel...it is nothing more that gossip and innuendo. Many articles published by "analysts" are nothing more than such nonsense...So why do they exist on this site....

But that is me...wanting to help others....but not wanted.

So after 9 months I am moving on. My TA attracts no comments, few are really interested in my posts (or at least they are not verbal about it).... MORE TO THE POINT....I am not learning anything here.

So it is time to go....I have announced this in my final post in my journal.....you can close it now if you wish.

It has been a slice....thanks

Your reach as far as influence might be more than you think. Most futures.io (formerly BMT) members do not participate, and further most who read futures.io (formerly BMT) might not even be members here. Your analysis of CAD Stocks, could be read by those of interest but have nothing to comment or seek any forum engagement.
Many times I have been called and thanked for some comments that I made where it helped people. But, I have a phone, site, etc. So reaching me and giving me a sense of contribution is easier than an annoymous contributor.
These people were not members of futures.io (formerly BMT) or even thought of becoming one.
But, I get your point agree with you in essence, it is hard to write when no feedback is given.

Every business has a sexy side to it, and in the trading world you have guys like @tigertrader who have amazing insights and realistic views of trading, and there are others who simply have more theories than reality on their side. It is what it is. You don't become angry, you take the good with the bad. This is the trading world.

Lastly, being an Elite Member or being a contributing member are two different things. If you don't wish to be a contributing member, there is no need for such an angry "exit strategy".

I wish you well.

Matt

Trading futures and options involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. You may lose more than your initial investment. All posts are opinions and do not claim to be facts. Please conduct your own due diligence. Use only Risk capital when trading Futures.

You haven't proven that your brand of TA is any better than a buy and hold strategy.

What was it you wanted to learn? You seemed very resistant to anything that challenged your beliefs.

Just a note that in November we're running another charity drive. New Elite Memberships are donated to charity. We've done this a couple times a year for the last 5 years or so, and have raised well over $10,000 for charity.

Details:

So any non-Elite guys have even less excuse now...

Thanks for the info Mike

I'm not Elite Member yet, I've been thinking about it for a while now.
Why? Well... as there is plenty of information on the site, and in my opinion I haven't read a lot of it yet. I am a beginner (7months, blew 2x £1000 accounts) who is trying to find his way of trading - as I've lost some money (my stupidity only) I'm not so quick to invest/spend even more than I lost. I know it is a really bad thinking (I've read Trading in the zone) and $100 is enough to trigger that thinking process (I have $200 on my account and a lot of work to do). You have to understand that as a beginner there is a lot of confusing information everywhere which is really frustrating. After some time (even on different forums) I've sort of built up this reluctance to things which involve: "holy grail", "my method", "pips", "just 100$" which again trigger not so positive thinking processes. I know it's in my own interest to join the right forum, well... getting back to the confusion and information overload, what is the right forum for me? Hence more time spent ad hoc as a non-registered, then registered as a regular user and now thinking about joining because I've seen (over time) the forum is worth joining (in November

As I said, I do believe this is the best forum out there, really appreciate your involvement and professionalism (even though there is a bit of "healthy sarcasm") when it comes to filtering and keeping the forum clean. For me personally, the value in Elite Membership is in ability to see profitable traders journals to see their styles, thinking processes and learn from people who do this for a living (including yourself

Hope this blob of text is somewhat helpful
Chris

Will be joining soon, and the charity side helped with the nudge. The only thing I can add that I didn't notice at first(there may be a thread but I haven't seen it yet, or maybe I can't remember), is a thread explaining the true benefit of the elite info. It says you get access to all elite functions, etc. but doesn't explain exactly how it might benefit your trading immediately. Like if I knew that the majority of the experienced traders had elite journals, and that there was a true difference in the quality of information on the elite side it may have cemented it sooner.

Maybe I'm just a dummy, but I feel like I didn't get a real feel for how good the info is on the elite side until I was cruising through certain posts, and found that the deeper explanations and info were found in the elite sections. I am not even an elite member yet, but that's the only way that I realized where the true value of that $100 value was. Compared to the more generic:

As an Elite Member, you will receive the following upgrades to your account:
Your user name will be highlighted in yellow to show your support
Access to all Elite threads and posts
Access to exclusive Elite downloads (indicators)
Access to exclusive webinars and training material
Enhanced Private Message capabilities (including PM attachments)
Enhanced Search capabilities (including search for attachments in posts globally)
Disable advertisements on the site if you wish
Ability to set your own custom user title
Tapatalk mobile app support

I feel like a better explanation of what I would truly gain, would have helped me make the decision sooner. But then again it may not be something you can put into words.

I feel that you have good information on the Elite forums but as of now, I am focusing more on what I need to do to improve my skills. That's my personal opinion. May be within 3-4 months when I am a little bit experienced with what I am doing right now, I will consider getting the elite membership.
