Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

A new theme/visual style will be part of the new deployment. Anyone can feel free to post or send me mock-ups of anything they wish that shows something they think is better.

Mike

Any idea what direction you want to take it thematically? Are you going for the same 'feel'? Same color scheme?

I'll work on a few samples.

Basically just a more modern version of what we have, less bubbles more hard edges, similar colors.

People don't like change, so phase 1 of the forum software change will need to try to be highly similar to the current site.

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.

I appreciate that, but I'm sure that even the older people (like me ) on futures.io (formerly BMT) are still able to adapt some changes in color and / or style...

I want to give the site a facelift, I am just saying it needs to be done incrementally and not all at once because the switch from vB to IPS is already a big enough change. So I will try to maintain similar functionality and appearance in that first theme, and then once we are solidly on IPS we will roll out other changes.

This is something I finished before I read the "less bubbles and more hard edges" post.. Anyway it's just a sample not a finished product so no worries.. next one will be more "serious" and more cohesive.. I'll be posting two categories: Just Logo and Logo with Text

These are wide open to suggestions and can be mixed and matched and changed in just about every way. If you have an idea just let me know and I'll try to make it happen (I love doing this stuff)

(this isn't self promotion I'm just trying to build credibility after submitting such a crappy unfinished product)

Totally different direction with this one.. In keeping with Mike's dog theme I thought maybe something like this might be interesting. I'm thinking it's a little too aggressive but oh well I'm just throwing ideas out there.

Next one will be an attempt to put "futures.io (formerly BMT)" together in a sort of corporate style.

Mike if I'm hijacking the thread please let me know and I'll either send them to you privately in a big batch or move to a different thread.
