can't post in most threads

Just about every thread I tried to post, I got a message saying that you can't post because you have less than 10 post, then warned me that if I try to circumvent that restriction I will be banned.

How can I actually "legally" post? if I try to post in threads like this to make up 10 posts, I will be banned for trying to circumvent the min 10 posts restriction, if I don't I will never be able to reach the 10 posts count.

I have been a member for almost 3 years, but I am still not allowed to post in real threads except for threads that has nothing to do with trading discussions, and even then I am still risking to be banned by posting.

How did you people get pass the 10 posts barrier? What is the "legal" way to post 10 posts and would not get banned?

where/what are you trying to post?

just about every thread where trading is a topic of discussion (or any thread for that matter, even the thread I started), for example, today I tried to post in this thread:

That is simply not true.

Two sections out of dozens are restricted. Vendor subforum and Broker/Data subforum are the ones that require 10 post reputation.

This is to prevent spam and self promotion.

Why didn't you let us know in plain sight which subforums were restricted and why? it would had saved me from all that frustrations for so long!

The subforums that I had been trying to post happened to be these two restricted forums! with no transparent communications, I scratched my head and couldn't figure out why "every" thread I tried to post didn't allow me to! and I was afraid to post in other threads because the warning message warned that if I try to get around the 10 min posts restriction by posting in other threads I would be banned permanently!

Here was the old error message communicated:

Now revised to this after your complaint:

I too have recently tried to place a couple of posts, one in a thread to do with Ziad Masri (after I viewed one of his promotional webinars and was 'troubled' by the exceptional slickness of his presentation) and today I was looking to file a post to do with 'Anek's Holy Grail' (and the lack of any meaningful updates in recent years) when I also got the message saying I had less than 10 posts etc and hence couldn't add to that thread....

Since it appears that the purpose of having this threshold (of minimum 10 posts) is to "... specifically prevent advertising, spam and self-promotion..." would that objective not be better achieved by actually allowing people to file their posts and thereafter the moderator can decide whether what was written was self-promotion or advertising?

Aloha Big Mike

I am afraid to do ANYTHING on your Forum right now. I cannot figure out how to post…can’t find instructions anywhere on how to do it. Whenever I try to post a reply I am told I need to make 10 posts before I can post???how can I post if I can’t post. I am 67 years old and I have never been on a forum in my life. I can still surf big wave so i am not a total loser, old kook…lol ( I hope you laugh). I really want to join in on this thread about School of Trade but I guess I flubbed up my first attempt and now you are talking about banning me.
Here is what I want to post. I think it is very important. Perhaps you don’t. Just tell me what to do and how to do it and I will…John JC Carper

my “post”:

This long thread on SOT is very, very interesting. i have attended a number of his afternoon reviews and have found him really interesting. He is definitely "on fire"...probably drinks 30 cups of coffee a day but I have back traded many of his huge trades on Replay and came up with similar numbers so I do know that AT LEAST the trades he SHOWS are legit. His DOM is white which indicates a live trading account, not SIM and he really knows his trend lines, S/R's and is funny. I kinda like the guy but I have been burned before by likable guys so I am super cautious. I was so ready to join that I put $5000 in a special account to send to him and decided to check out some reviews before I joined. I was horrified by what I saw and not just the negative comments on Big Mikes but EVERY other forum out there. So, I decided to further look into this and also try to see who started all this commotion.

It seems as though a guy called Llyod h or something from the UK started it and just went peddle to the metal with it. He has not responded to any inquiries by me and everything he did was quite a few years ago. Then on one site (probably shouldn't name it here, but it is pretty easy to find) I saw a letter by Llyod, with his same handle, apologizing as part of his 12 step program for MAKING IT ALL UP! Seems he was a student and started his own Trade Room and was bent on destroyin Joesph James. Llyod does not respond to any inquiries and hasn't been active here for quite awhile.

WOW!!! This is like "Days of Our Life" or something. I REALLY want to find out the TRUTH. I would hate to see a good man ruined nor would I want to see good people ruined by a bad man, but there should be some serious investigation. there have been a lot of super positive comments posted and all the negative comments seem to be posted by a small group of people.

...ps...I am new to Big Mikes and super busy and I don't know ALL the protocol here so I hope I am not stepping out of bounds by reaching out to you, if so I apologize now.On Dec 7, 2014, at 6:24 AM, Big Mike's
