I saw this referenced in the beginning of an "R" class on Coursera about how to ask good questions online that will likely get people to help you out. It deals mainly with mailing lists, but the etiquette and tips involved could go a long way here on futures.io (formerly BMT) if people asked more thoughtful questions.
