Many users often feel intimated or are unsure of exactly how or where to ask a question. This feature was created with that in mind, to encourage these users to participate!
In the coming days, the forum home page will add the "Ask a question" button and the "Question & Answer board" listing. Using them is quite simple:
Step 3: Someone else answers the question, and as you view the thread you can select the post as an Answer. You can select more than one answer, so if three different users posted three helpful answers, you can select Answer for each of their posts. You can only select Answer once per user, though, so for instance if one user posts three times, you can only select one post as the answer.
That user will also receive credit for answering the question. The forum will keep track of how many questions each user has answered, and will display that information in their profile:
There is an error here.
If you post a question and get an error message stating that the title is too long, you correct it, make the post, but the post will not be a question, i.e. it will not be visible among the questions on the main page.
Instead, it will be visible among the other threads as a regular thread.
(and migrate posts to the other thread if there is any)
Also, I’d like to know if there is a way to post a question (showing up on the question board on the main page) from the forum pages, i.e. creating a new thread showing up on the question board, or posting such a question is only possible via the main page of nexusfi.com (formerly BMT)?
The title should be short -- just a few words -- I am not sure what length is giving you an error but you are the first person to ever report a problem, so I am assuming it was pretty long.
The Question Board is primarily for new users that are not accustomed to forum software. For other users, just use the regular New Thread buttons. The Question Board should only be used for simple Question and Answer threads, which is what we get 95% of the time because most of the people using it are "newer" traders or newer members on the forum.
It should not be used for normal discussions because it is designed so that each post can be selected as an "answer", which is not what you would want in a regular discussion thread.
I've lost the Traders Edge section of the Main Page. Tried Internet Explorer as well thinking it could be a problem with Chrome. But, IE has the same problem.
There was some type of error. I tested and couldn't find the source of the problem, but it is working again for now. I have been up all night and a long day yesterday, it will have to wait until I sleep to look into it further.
Noticed there was a website under Trackbacks; What is Trackbacks? What does already pinged mean? Its a real website. I did a search on nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) for Trackbacks but could not find anything.
I think a trackback is simply anywhere on the net that links to a specific thread. It's a feature from vbulletin
