Yes, that is how it is implemented at the moment. I've not yet been able to do it in a more elegant way, thanks to the underlying complexity of vbulletin. I wanted to release what we have then keep working on getting it to be at the keyboard cursor instead of mouse pointer.
@xplorer there is something odd about your New Reply page -- the left/right margin has huge amount of wasted space. The editor should be expanding to full size.
It's not a big deal for me but FWIW when using Firefox the 'hover' over is not shown because of the cursor. On Chrome, I can move the cursor to one side and almost see the count.

When someone quotes me in a thread, I get a notification on the right top of my screen with a number. When I click on it, it brings me to my account screen, as if I clicked on my name in the right top corner. Should I not see the posts from the people who quoted me?
