I'm getting the same issue but if the page is refreshed it shows zero.
It is as if the page is not forced to refresh. FWIW

New Posts

I just tried it and got the same.

The steps were:

- From main page, went to New Posts page (had 4 unread)
- Clicked "Mark all forums read" link (without reading any)
- Was sent back to Main page, as expected, but New Posts link still showed 4
- Clicked on New Posts link on main page again, and was sent to New Posts page, which showed none, as was correct
- Went back to Main page and count showed zero, also now correct

Edit: when I got some more and went back to the New Posts page, and this time actually did read them but did not click on "Mark all forums read," and then went back to the main page, the New Posts count correctly showed zero.

Bob.

This is still occurring, albeit the frequency seems to have gone down. Rate seems to be about 50% now.

Thanks guys. I'll continue looking into it as time permits and will follow-up.

For the moment, I made the fix I put in place yesterday a higher execution priority within the system, to see if that will do it. That fix should have worked yesterday, as it forces the query to be re-cached after marking forums read. What you guys are seeing is consistent with our soft TTL settings, the first query is cached & second is fresh, as it's re-queried in the background by our reverse SQL proxy layer. My fix is to do that instantly upon marking as read, so you don't have to refresh the page.

If not, I will have to look at it later in more detail to see why the script isn't executing in the order expected. Let me know.

Just a quick note to all: the mod team and I are working on a new forum structure as previously discussed several pages back in this changelog thread. Once we have something presentable, we'll share it with everyone and ask for more input before we make it live.

Has anyone still continued to experience the problem, or did this last fix solve it? I've made no changes since the above post/change yesterday.

Minor issue: in the iOS app, when looking at the Timeline, I see the first few lines of each post. When I select that post, however, I am taken to some other post in the thread and have to scroll or switch pages to find that post, usually the last one in the thread. Is there any way to change things so that we actually go to the post that is previewed?

Hey guys, just a little odd thing to report here... when I go to UserCP to check new posts in my sub'd threads, the title is sometimes missing... I've noticed this with @Blash's and @bobwest's threads. Checked it in Firefox and Chrome, same behaviour.

Hi @Big Mike,

Hope all is well with yourself and family these days, I know you have had your challenges recently.

Just logged in after about 3 months or so and wondering if there are changes to the system that might impact Chrome browsers?

I tried reply to email and it would not allow me to enter text into the quick reply or Advanced box to messages. This worked last time I logged in to Futures.IO. I needed login using FireFox to respond to messages.

Just a heads up to make sure you are aware of this potential issue. I can use FireFox if needed so no big deal.
