Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

Deleted the Quick Reply option. 3.5 years of not having it -- well, I am used to not seeing it, and feel most people won't use it and most people won't like an extra button on every post.

So, deleted.

I'm still waiting for a couple of fixes here and there to finish the style changes and re-enable the API. Waiting on developers....

Mike

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.

There is currently a problem with Private Message email notifications as a result to the changes I made to the PM system. They are sending some extra HTML/CSS formatting info that they shouldn't be. I'm working on the problem.

Mike

I believe this has now been fixed, please let me know if not (as of this post).

Also I added a timeline to private messages (new PM's as of today only), so it will show in the quote block the timestamp of the PM.

Style changes

Futures Edge on FIO
I like the style of the new buttons. Let's fit it to the other buttons:

Current:
Please register on futures.io to view futures trading content such as post attachment(s), image(s), and screenshot(s).

New style ("Top of Page" Button and "Page 52 of 52"):
Please register on futures.io to view futures trading content such as post attachment(s), image(s), and screenshot(s).

Other buttons of futures.io (formerly BMT) would look like the "Top of Page" button. For example "Submit Reply", "Preview Post" etc.

I think this would be a nice fix in the design.

Here the CSS code for that: (Tested in Firefox, don't know how IE accept that...)

Quoting
.button {
background: #245AAB;
border: none;
color: #FFFFFF;
font: bold 11px verdana,geneva,lucida,'lucida grande',arial,helvetica,sans-serif;
padding: 3px;
}

In .vbmenu_control you need only change the background to #245AAB. Everything else remains.

I also like the shape of the new buttons, but the color does not match the forum colors.

The blue of the new buttons lacks brilliance as opposed to the forum blue which is fresh and produces a better contrast with the white letters.

Thanks Fat Tails. I haven't created the new buttons. I just thougt it would be a nice fix in the design.

Look at the "Post Reply" button, it's also a new button and it dosen't match to the current style of "Page xx of xx" or "Top of Page".

Whatever, solution would be to create new buttons with this gradient effect you like or to match "Top of Page" and the other things to the new button style.

I prefer the new button style, it is modern

As suggested by @goldenriver, we've completed some changes (not exactly the ones he mentioned, but similar).

Examples:

Please register on futures.io to view futures trading content such as post attachment(s), image(s), and screenshot(s).

Please report any problems.

The images in your screenshot look blurry. Did you zoom in? What browser are you using? Everything is crisp and sharp for me in IE, Firefox and Chrome.

Sample:

Please register on futures.io to view futures trading content such as post attachment(s), image(s), and screenshot(s).

I love the new "New" button on subscribed/new posts, much bigger and easier to click especially on a smartphone.
