futures io is the largest futures trading community on the planet, with over 100,000 members. At futures io, our goal has always been and always will be to create a friendly, positive, forward-thinking community where members can openly share and discuss everything the world of trading has to offer. Links in other mails, in preview work, i click on them and a new tab opens
only in FIO that does not work, i need to open the mail completely
before the link works

Well, actually, it does not happen for you in Chrome. It does for me in Chrome. Unless, as I previously noted, I open Chrome in "basic HTML" mode, where it doesn't. Others have chimed in here and reported they have no issue in Chrome. (And Mike tested one of the emails I forwarded to him and had no Chrome issues with it.)

So something strange is going on. But in the few cases (so far, only you and me) where it does, FIO is the common denominator, not the browser. But I doubt that the email-sending code in FIO has changed, so what could be up?

Could there be something to do with particular users in FIO? Unlikely, since you are not having an issue in Chrome -- just grasping at straws now.

PS, I can live with this fine if I have to, so it doesn't need a lot of research just for me, if few others are affected. But there could be members who don't know to use this thread to report issues, and it could be happening more often than it appears. Or maybe it's just two people and that's it.... Who knows?

Do you have an add blocker ?
I do, and when i scroll through the mails from FIO i can see the counter of blocked incrementing
I also see the increment when i try to open a link.

The question remains, why it works in full view mode
and not in the preview mode...

I have now disable the add blocker in yahoo and the link works correctly like in the past

some how ad blocker start blocking futures link in email from opening a new tab until I pause it.

Our outbound mail processor Mandrill converts our URLs to their own, which we use the e.futures.io domain. Is a redirect to our site, plus a code that tells Mandrill the email link was clicked.

I'm guessing your ad blocker are blocking it. Please disable ad blockers on our entire domain.

In meantime, I'll see if I can change that on my side, as we don't make any use of the tracker code anyway.

I have AdBlock Plus. If I turn it off completely, the link works, but then I have the ads.

When I turned it on again and just whitelisted FIO, the link didn't work again. Then (lightbulb going off) when I whitelisted my Chrome page (mail.google.com), it worked fine. So I guess there must have been some recent change to AdBlock Plus that didn't like the link and blocked it.

Thanks for bringing this up. I never thought about the ad blocker, although I should have.

It is the ad blocker, but on Chrome, not on FIO. Disabling for futures.io didn't fix it, disabling it just on my Chrome page did.

OK so I just looked again, as this is a major thing to me (seeing someone elses username as logged in).

I couldn't find any evidence of any issue with the caching. I ran a bunch of tests across the 100k+ cached pages in memory, and none of them showed any logged in user. I checked against multiple methods to verify this, examining HTML for hints the user is logged in (using grep -lr) such as cookies, user id's, and other HTML markup that happens only when logged in.

So, if this happens again please take a screenshot that includes the exact URL you are on and the username you see, so I can find the exact occurrence of this.

Just reporting same behaviour as above... a few mins ago I came onto FIO to check new posts and it looked like I was logged as someone else (spdavis3). Screenshot attached.

Please register on futures.io to view futures trading content such as post attachment(s), image(s), and screenshot(s).


I had just clicked on mi FIO link. The URL showed "https://futures.io".

I tried to click on the new posts but it logged me out right away.
