At futures io, our focus is on quality education. No hype, gimmicks, or secret sauce. The truth is: trading is hard. To succeed, you need to surround yourself with the right support system, educational content, and trading mentors Ė all of which you can find on futures io, utilizing our social trading environment.

With futures io, you can find honest trading reviews on brokers, trading rooms, indicator packages, trading strategies, and much more. Our trading review process is highly moderated to ensure that only genuine users are allowed, so you donít need to worry about fake reviews.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading sites:
  • We are here to help. Just let us know what you need.
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive in our community.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendors advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, we can help you find it.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community.  It's free and simple.

Big Mike's Best of Trading 2012

Hi guys,

It's that time again!

Please register on futures.io to view futures trading content such as post attachment(s), image(s), and screenshot(s).

Like the last few years, futures.io (formerly BMT) is holding its annual "futures.io (formerly BMT) Best of Trading" awards where the users can select the best of the best in a wide array of categories.

You can see the 2010 and 2011 results here:
Best Of Trading - Big Mike Trading

The award process is a two stage event: From now until the end of November, we will hold nominations where the users need to reply to this thread and nominate the candidates.

Then during December we will hold the actual voting, where users will cast their votes and select the winners in each category. Remember, we can only vote if first a name has been nominated!

So step one is to make nominations in each of the following categories:
  • futures.io (formerly BMT) Member of the Year
  • futures.io (formerly BMT) Thread of the Year
  • futures.io (formerly BMT) Journal of the Year
  • futures.io (formerly BMT) Programmer of the Year
  • futures.io (formerly BMT) Indicator of the Year
  • futures.io (formerly BMT) System of the Year
  • futures.io (formerly BMT) Webinar of the Year
  • Best Futures Broker
  • Best Forex Broker
  • Best Stocks Broker
  • Best Data Feed
  • Best Trading Platform
  • Best Trading Book

Like years past, if you have a suggestion for an additional category, please reply and let me know and I will consider it.

Indicators/systems/webinars/books etc do not need to have been created in 2011 in order to qualify. This thread is for the Best of Trading, which means the best that currently exists, regardless of when it was created.

Mike

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.

My nominations:

Best thread
Artificial Bee Colony by NJAMC
(https://futures.io/elite-automated-ninjatrader-trading/22389-artificial-bee-colony-abc-algorithm.html)
For the sheer amount of effort he has put into this and the insights/code shared unconditionally in such a short time.

Best Trading Platform
TT X_TRADER
Without a doubt, given the features in 7.11 and 7.12 and release cycle of new interfaces they've put out this year.

Best Futures Broker
Mirus Futures
I am moving my account to other brokers (for logistical reasons) but I still think they did a phenomenal job and will definitely be missed.

Best Forex Broker
PFGBest
For outsmarting regulators.

Best Stocks Broker
Interactive Brokers
Unfortunately.

I'm thinking we should add a category for "futures.io (formerly BMT) Best Journal of the Year", since many of my nominations for thread of the year in the last post are actually journals.

Also, since we already have a MVP (member of the year), should we add a Rookie of the year?

What do you think?

Yes, should add this one.

Since there is too many journal in this forum, sometimes I don't know which one is the best to read. I only refer to the amount of replies and views to figure out which one I should read.

However, it only means that the journal had been exist a long time but doesn't mean it is the best.
