just one thing, it costs too much.

First off...I'm NOT affiliated with eSignal in any way.

In the beginning, I tried most all the other lower-cost sites and many other packaged Software Products.

FWIW...I've used eSignal for almost 20 years. Now I am able to cover the annual fees from my trading revenue earned in one week. NOTE: It took about 10 yrs. to get to this point.

My wake-up call:
The owner of a CCI trading site said "If you can't make money in the Market, you are doing something Wrong..."
"Figure out WHAT you are doing wrong and STOP doing it". I took this advice to heart and it was life changing.

I use eSig v10.6 nothing fancy
Good Trading to all

Actually Esignal is a fairly good program, and you can feed the data into Ninja easily.

So why don't I use it? Simple cost. What I get free using Ninja and PFG, would cost be almost $120 a month. Esignal just isn't THAT good.

Pete

Four serious questions please...
Are you able to earn $120 monthly using Ninja Trader?
Is Ninja Trader 'better' because it's Free or because it's a Superior Platform?
Are you NOT able to earn $120 monthly using eSignal?

eSignal has what I require to be successful.(past 10 years)
I'de be happy to share my eSig success with you Pete.

Long only position (swing) trader,
Good Trading to you.

You may have missed my point Super...,

Point is, IF you cannot cover the monthly nut with your trading revenue, the answer may NOT lie in a cheaper platform.

Good Trading to you Super

I would bet real money that most people would make more money only using a newspaper and graph paper.

Actually I think you missed the point. I am using Ninja because of features it has, that I like better then Esignal. So I made the commitment to switch. Ninja isn't free by any means.

But having made the decision to switch, it makes to sense to pay $120 a month for data I can get free.

Is there any value for a person swing trading stocks?

What features in E signal would allow a trader to make back the monthly fee that are not available with other programs? I trade with IB using their TWS

Hello Ddog,
I'm a long time eSig user and very satisfied with the platform. Having said this, I don't believe there is any 'specific' feature in eSig that makes this success possible over other platforms. I spent many years 'searching' for the Holy Grail, constantly changing to the 'latest' and 'greatest' product / platform / Indicator/ Strategy... that promised success. One day, I got some sage advice that made me realize the thing standing in my way was ME. I'm successful now, but it's not because of eSig. The features I need for success are available in other platforms.

I believe when the student is 'ready' the teacher will 'appear'. For me, this happened about 10yrs ago.
Success is within YOU.

Good Trading.
PeterJerome.

I have always wondered why not many people use esignal as well. I pretty much had to subscribe to esignal because at the time I was using Amibroker and esignal were the only data provider that provided live data for ASX stocks. Later on when I started trading futures I switched from time based bars to price based bars (tick charts, range bars) which was really annoying with amibroker because I had to always change the database settings. And for some reason I could never get range bars to work on amibroker even after about 5 emails to their support team. So I decided to start using esignal 11 and loved it. Esignal would have to be the only platform that has never given me any problems its rock solid and their support is pretty good aswell. I guess that's why signal users don't really talk about the platform on the web that much because they are pretty satisfied with the product. The only downsides I think they have is the price and it can be hard to get custom programing done aswell, unlike ninjatrader which has a big following and coders are plentiful.
