I personally prefer the Russel in longer timeframes and the Dow intraday due it´s liquidity and volatility.
But it depends completely on the kind of system ( timeframe, tradefrequency etc.. ) to advice on a good market.
Range TF 677.8 -669.5 = 8.3 points -> 83 ticks
Range YM 10806 - 10735 = 71 points -> 71 ticks
Thursday
Range TF 683.8 -667.8 = 16.0 points -> 160 ticks
Range YM -> 10887 -10680 = 227 points -> 227 ticks
Friday so far
Range TF 680.9 - 670.8 = 10.1 points -> 101 ticks or
Range Ym 10807 - 10718 = 89 points -> 89 ticks or
You get about the same number of ticks for your money.
Tick Value
The tick value for YM is USD 5, for TF USD 10. So you would trade half the number of contracts of TF compared to YM. If you trade a small number of contracts, you would have more flexibility with YM.
Whipsaws
It looks as if YM currently runs a little bit smoother. Maybe this is because it is easier for arbs to handle YM than TF.
tderrik, you tolld that already trade YM, it move little more smoothly than TF, and also for your small pocket is better if u stay with it as it is half size value.
