Make sure you research your broker thoroughly. I wouldn't go near AMP if I were you.

Mike

Thanks for looking out Big Mike.

I find Asian session untradeable. No movement, no liquidity. Back when CL was in free fall there was some opportunity there though. Currently I don't even trade the European session due to the low volatility in Summer.

Understanding yourself is just as important as understanding markets.

Can anyone post a snapshot of ES' DOM during Asian and European hours?

Hey, thanks for the snapshot!

I take that as the European version of trading hours.

Hmm... the DOM may be several times less than regular trading hours, but I believe trades involving 100 contracts and less should still do fine.

Incidentally the market just had a good breakout from 82 with absorption to 87 of which I was not a part of lol.

In 24hour markets...

...there are no after market hours. Additionally, if you really study volume flow...you'll note that markets move quite well without much. Your fills may slip a bit though, if the smaller amount of volume is one sided in the moment you trade.

Your real enemy is fighting nature and your sleep patterns, which will cause more harm than good in the long run.

Best bet...establish your fills, targets, and stop loss points where you wish...then trundle off to work or sleep with peace of mind.

I am an aspiring trader with a job during market hours. Can the ES be actively traded, or day traded, after the stock markets closed or does it require actual movement of the S&P 500? If not can commodities and forex?

Absolutely. I do it all the time. ES is traded 23 hours a day during MH, UK, Asia etc..its just a matter of volume. I find for me being in Hawaii, RTH for the ES is between 2:30am to 10:30am.. I find that during the UK, around 8:00pm my time, the trading is less volatile, i can get cleaner entries with several points under my belt during those times.
