I was watching a video from it looks to me as probably the most popular internet personality and he said "on there own there's about a 97% fail rate just trading futures, combined with the rest of your portfolio its a monster entity. " All I was looking into was futures as there is no PDT rule. I seem to paper trade better with futures also.
Am I getting into the wrong thing?

I'll repeat something I just posted elsewhere: if one does not have a robust trading plan that he actually trades, he will fail. Doesn't really matter how many other failures there are or if there are any other failures at all. If one wants to succeed, he has to approach trading methodically, deliberately, rationally, seriously. And that spells w-o-r-k. Just like any other endeavor that is worthwhile.
