I was hired years ago as a trainee in newly formed stockbrokerage company as a stockbroker and I had absolutely zero knowledge of trading which they didn't seem to care about. What I believe they cared about was I was confident when I spoke and I was enthusiastic. So in a nutshell being enthusiastic and confident speaking can carry a lot of merit in the sales world which it sounds like this opportunity is.

Quantismo... been there done that.....

Obviously he is not going to impress with your trading knowledge. And since this is a cold calling job wow him with your ability to say a name clearly. I personally hang up on many sale calls as soon as they mispronounce my name.
ps. watch Boiler Room for more tips.

Or the Wolf of Wall Street!

As a futures broker you have to be willing to pick up the phone and call all day long and open accounts. You need thick skin, its not an easy job. You will get hung up on, screamed at, sworn at. You have to be able to let it fall off your shoulder like it is nothing and pick up the phone and make the next call. Not everyone can do it.

Honestly an entry level position like this costs them next to nothing and they have high turnover. If you want to impress the managing partner, show him you can sell. That's what they want in this role, a salesman. They can careless about your trading ability.
