Hello Everyone!

My name is Alex and have been trading the FTSE for about 3 years.

I would like to start a thread to do with all things FTSE 100 related. This can include trading strategies and/or FTSE 100 traders, products and services.

I have used a few different services in the past so would welcome any input you feel would assist in successfully trading the FTSE.

I will update and share my findings and review anything and everything FTSE related

Thanks
Alex

Hi Alex, what time of day do you trade the FTSE?
I have been looking at the FTSE in the UK evening.
What's your opinion of the market during this time?

I have been following the FTSE generally trading the London Open as the spread is 1 point usually.
It also sees a nice bit of volume making ideal for scalping.

Can trade any time of the day I guess but reckon London and US sessions work well enough.

The following downside targets should it break back down to 6500s.

Based on the last swing high to 6880s down to 6490s.

6710 - 38.2% Fib
6670 - 50% Fib
6630 - 61.8% Fib

FTSE often likes the 61.8%.

Needing to clear 6770s for the moment though for the above targets to be valid

Hi Alex, I usually trade in the uk evenings. I am Uk based.
Mostly I trade the US afternoon session.

The FTSE does move after 5pm uk time though and it does give me entries.

6770 area is still holding for now. Still managed over 100 points today 7th May 2014 @ £5 per point

Hi Hood,
Are you unable to trade the London Open around 8am?

Hi Hood,

yes, unfortunately I have to work in my 9-5 job during this time. So I trade the US market afternoon session when I get home from work and usually take a few trades from FTSE or FDAX. These 2 markets really slow down after 5-6pm Uk time but I am developing a method to trade these markets during these low volume periods. So far the method is giving me good results in SIM mode. I will go live in a month or so when I have a better sample size of trades to analyse.
Is your method fib based?
Cheers
