open interest is 5 x volume so you have real buyers and sellers versus mostly scalpers

you have a low tick increment of .1 point or 1/10t of a point versus 4 or 1/25th for the es and the nq. this has serious advantages. You don't get whipsawed as much.

there are 2000 stocks with small percentages effecting the index versus 5 or 10 controlling the index.

overall a lower tick increment is better along with a lower tick value or contract size. es..2 ticks is 25 bucks.. 3 is 37.70 which is easily done in lots of whipsaws.. this is 6 to 8 points in R2k. your stops for entry can get better fills as well .. or get you in a little earlier. This is exactly why the es volumes are down significantly.. and the NQ volumes are up. the es needs a tick change.. just like the R2K (russell 2000) to .1 equal to $ 5 which would get volumes up and get people trading it again. the arbs and HFT love the 12.50 tick size.. it is ridiculous when you think about it. you pay that minimum on every stop to enter.. versus 5 or 10 bucks and a much better fill on the r2k. the nasdaq is better than es 500 due to the lower tick amount of $ 5 bucks. If this was not true then individual stocks would be trading at increments other than .01 dollar or 1 cent.. stocks if the es would be trading at 3 to 5 cents a tick instead of 1 cent. THIS MATTERS WHEN PLACING Stops and MIT orders to enter trades.

For what it's worth I like the ES where it is and liked the russell at 10.
I think it probably does get more fish in the pond at half price....

I went back to find my post on copper going over 3 but can't find it. I was a tiny bit early on that call and maybe late on saying the $3 party is over. Oh well, I suspect many here don't have a lot of interest in it anyway.

Aside from that, getting a bit annoyed by all the slippage and crappy fills going on in the RTY....

Looking for a run up to 1570... a nice short squeeze might be coming soon. if going to happen I would think it would be before Friday but not seeing a catalyst nearer term so just keep an eye out. As of the writing of this post a possible bottom may be in...a bit early to say for sure however.

The way it's going I think it's increasingly unlikely we will see 1570 ....

Well, looks possible again...
1570 does have significance, I bought near the lows but dumped it. Will be looking for another entry somewhere.

I think I pretty much have to write 1570 off...in the middle of this downfall another area popped up and quickly got hammered. I am noticing a definite change in the market behavior...and not just that it has dropped. When I get a better understanding I will post my thoughts.

The other spot was/is 1530. We got back to it and above it and tested it. That said, we might get another test around there but am now looking to get back to 1570. That maybe the end of the run up...Don't know but, point is for those reading this to keep those areas in mind.

Thought I would post some trades this week but the entire week in the rty was a freaking mess...more than usual.
The past month or so has been kind of goofy actually I guess the market only moves to Trumps tweets or Powells bs.
I guess I forgot to add China news, nothing else seems to matter these days.

Looking to buy around 1027 if it gets there. The way it's going might be real soon
Laying low at the moment, don't want to get bulldozed.
