If you can?t get risk management to work in Rithmic, there are tools available for NT8, as well as other platforms.

Discipline Manager for NT8. Sierracharts also has a built in one, forgiving computers will also do a more advanced version for Sierra.

Rithmic and Sierra Chart/Teton both have excellent risk management tools on the back end for your broker to put some limitations in

Use Promo Code FUTURES.IO for $0.45 futures commissions, $0.19 micro commissions HERE. *Promotion only available to new customers. Other fees such as exchange and NFA still apply*

4tilson >>Are you advising newbies another way of giving away their hard earned dollars?<<

It is pretty clear in the original post that BurnOutTrader was looking for some assistance in limiting his daily draw down and searching for a broker who would take on this responsibility. All newbies are going to give away their hard earned dollars as the price they pay for learning. My suggestion would put a hard limit on the daily loss and dramatically reduce the rate of ongoing loss while buying additional time to figure out how to improve their performance.

>> Better to do it this way and slow down the burn rate while accelerating the "learn from screwing up" process than to dump $25K into the account with the assumption that surely you will master the game before you go broke.<<

It worked for me.

This is why I decided to start prop trading with Rithmic (Leeloo). Hard limit, trailing drawdown, subscription rate of ~$60/mo for $25k account ($1,500 trailing drawdown), new trading enviroment so the bad habits are less likely to follow me. I've sim traded on so many different accounts that I often fall back to my old habits of doubling down/adding to losses/no hard stop. New trading environment, new opportunity for change, setting new habits.
