Ninja Trader 8 indicators for ES Mini SP 500 with February 2018 spike in volatility.
11Feb18. Hi. With the recent spike in volatility, can you please provide guidance on the best strategy / indicator to do day trading on Ninja Trader 8?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Believe it or not, your default Sample MA crossover is in the class that does the best with these types of markets. High volatility markets favor trend following systems, low volatility markets favor mean reversal / range arbitrage systems.
You wouldn't want to use it as is most likely, but drop it in your market replay and test a few dozen settings and you will find just about everything works. In practice I would recommend using different entry and exit order types, but generally the idea of a trend following system is what you want in markets with large trends like this.
Good luck!
Ian
