Does anyone know of any, or has anyone produced contemporary literature with regards to the ES. I finished Technical Analysis of Futures Trading, but also read that much of the information has little application and relationship to the modern market. Thanks in advance
Here is a short list of books I've read and recommend. I am not a big reader of books in print, I tend to prefer on-line methods... but nonetheless, these are great reads and contain a lot of information that helped me.

Keep in mind that markets change, but they really stay the same. Trend, back and fill, oscillate, and balance.
You can spend your whole life reading about the markets, but, IMO, nothing takes the place of screen time, study, market prep and risk control.

Thanks a ton for your advice...I have been actively trading and putting in a ton of hours trying to see how this seemingly relentless machine works. I am trading real money now, constantly looking for ways to better my returns by seeing the nature of the movement. Do you trade full-time? Do you have any other advices/criticisms?
I work full time and trade full time, as my job allows me to do so. I take periodic breaks from trading, if needed, but for the most part I trade on a daily and nightly basis.
If you haven't yet joined up as an Elite Member here at FIO, I'd definitely recommend it. In addition to helping Big Mike with the costs associated with running this board, there is a wealth of info in the Elite Members section.
I will reiterate one part, pre/post market prep is key to this biz. I do it everyday, religiously if I'm trading the markets and will at times do it even if I'm not actively trading or taking a break. Market awareness is such a big part of keeping a feel for the pulse of the market. I maintain a daily journal that tracks of all of my trades then analyze where I did good / bad / poor and always strive to improve.
Keep in mind here, you are swimming in an ocean with big fish, sharks and an ever flowing current that can change direction at any time. Being flexible to the ever evolving market conditions is a key survival trait needed, IMO.
