night trading
Hello I have been trading Russell 2000 on and off for many years. The past year my days have been occupied so I have been unable to watch the markets and trade at all. I'm not really interested in Stocks - overnight - swing trading etc... I would like some truly unbiased help on a great futures contract, preferably E-mini, that I could trade EST 7pm-12am. I know Asian markets have E-mini but I'm just confused with all the promotional banter as I look for the answer myself.
Because of my semi nocturnal work schedule, I am learning to trade (sim) on a session from 2:30am to 5am. I trade CL, GC, and 6J using auction theory hypotheses (similar to FT71) and price action set ups. I have heard that the overnight session is very …

Thank you for the link I’m going to read through it. Thanks. In the meantime I’ve heard about Mini Nikkei 225 Osaka-Japan jPXmay be a good fit. Any experiences?
Thanks
None personally, I trade the /ES and /NQ in the O/N session. Both have their personalities, if you will, and since I trade them during RTH, why change to something else?

Some options for Asian session markets (US Evening);
Mini-Nikkei on OSE
+ Highest volume on Asian futures
+ Some pretty good commission deals around (40yen per side)
- Volatility has dissipated this last 18 months (some days < 20 tick range)
- With the volatility low, market moves just happen in one go (often a couple sec burst) and that's it for the day.
KOSPI200 / Mini-KOSPI
+ Second Highest Volume on Asian Futures
+ Good participation, nice moves and volatility, orderly market auctioning
- Higher commissions (but still under 1 tick per r/t ratio (via IB anyway)
- Outside of IB, no-one else seems to support this market, which is a shame
HSI or Mini-HSI (Hang Seng)
+ Good daily volume
+/- If you love DAX, this is for you lol
+/- Crazy volatility
- I have seen massive moves 5-10min before major news releases, made me very weary.
SPI or Mini-SPI on SFE
+ Yay, Aussies have a futures market
..... thats about it, ok volatility, no volume to speak of (compared to any other mature market), questionable influence from big 4 banks, etc..
