When trading ES one is usually cautious on certain days (FOMC, NFP, Rollover, Triple Witching, etc).

Anyone knowS what days are similar for when trading DAX? and possibly where I could find the actual calendar dates.

THANKS

@GFIs1 may have good information, otherwise use the ES ones and also Euopean/UK holidays and days where it quite simply looks like a chopfest, today for example.

Yes - I do not trade the Dax on US holidays. If a holiday is connected with the weekend I am cautious on the
days before and after that long weekend.
The calender I am using: DerivateCheck
For the days with high volume (RollOver, Big Numbers, FED or ECB announcements etc.) the trading is always
difficult. For a normal trader this is a red flag ;-)

Good trades

The DAX has the same triple witching days as US index futures.

Contract Expiry (Index Futures):

The FDAX futures contracts expire on the third Friday of March / June / September / December at 1:00 PM CET (Central European Time). Volume only shifts to the new contract on the expiry date. Therefore the Friday may be also considered as official rollover date.

Contract Expiry (Index Options, Stock Options and Single Stock Futures):

The options contracts expire on the third Friday at 1:00 PM of each month.

Contract Expiry(Single Stock Futures):

Single stock options expire on the third Friday of each month at 5:45 PM CET.

Contract Expiry (Single Stock Options):

Single stock options expire on the third Friday of each month at 8:00 PM CET.

You can find the actual calendar dates on the website of EUREX:

Eurex - DAX® Futures

You should further have a look at the holiday regulations, as Europe has more holidays than the US.

Anyone here know of any other instrument that has FDAX like characteristics in terms of movement/volatility/price action?

Thanks..
