Hello all,

Recently I have been experimenting with using volatility to help set up my stops and targets and this little indicator is something that I came across and liked, was wondering what you all thought.

Volatility Profit Indicator (VPI) for Sierra Charts - Sierra Chart

It is available in the custom study section of Sierra Chart.

I have been using this and a standard ATR indicator, if I take a trade within the bands i use them as my stop and the moving average as my target. If price is outside the bands when I take the trade I have been using 2x ATR.

The indicator is applied to a 200 tick chart on the NQ and during the afternoon ATR (on a 14 bar average) is between 1 and 2 points.

Any input is very welcome, I am not sure if this indicator is the ideal way to use volatility and am really just curious what people think and any advice they have on other indicators or methods that might help me.

Thanks in advance.

I have created this indicator for NT7 few months ago, you can find it here

It gives high degree of freedom to adjust it the way you want.

You need to adjust it in a way fits your trading method.
