I have named my trading technique, GEOMETRIX, because it is comprised mainly of a number of independently determined price support and resistance levels, pivots and bar metrics, differentiated by colors, markers and multi-time frames.
Chart Properties (for purposes of illustration, the chart attached is vertically compressed.)
Levels = After Hours ("AH") or Overnight High, MidPoint and Low w/% extensions above the High and below the Low. Labels: AH(Red) = High; AM(Yellow) = MidPoint; AL(Lime Green) = Low w/% extensions optional.
Cyan & Blue Hash Horizontals = Proprietary S/R's applied AH session. Cyan = Weekly, Blue = Intrasession.
Levels = RTH session (Colors as above); extensions optional.
labels with pre-fix CD followed by High, Mid, Low, ie. CDH, CDM, CDL w/% extensions.
labels with pre-fix PD followed by High, Mid, Low. ie. PDH, PDM, CDL w/% extensions.
U = labels with pre-fix OR followed by High, Mid, Low ie. ORH, ORM, ORL w/% extensions.
Current Day Open ("CDO") = Cyan Dash Horizontal.
Previous Day Close ("PDC") = White Dash Horizontal.
Bars = Candlestick style with color-coded bodies generated by a proprietary algorithm using: bid/ask volume and ticks with reversal and continuation bars: orange = bullish, yellow = bearish, white bullish/bearish depending on bar close at high/low.
Pivots = marked by arrowheads above/below validated pivot bars.
Arrowhead size reflects time frame of pivot, descending from highest to lowest, largest to smallest. Arrowhead colors are part of the manual click-to-draw Andrews forks. Automatic forks can be enabled for one or more forks per time frame ie. you can automatically produce the number of forks that you choose, per time frame that you have designated; historic forks optional.
Tick and Time Labels = Optionally, you can plot the # of ticks between the same colored arrowheads, #of bars, the time at the bar Close, % of each metric, and combos.
Right Arrowhead(White) bar marker = Special Engulfing Bar.
Vertical Line(Red) = RTH Close.
Comments:
1. GEOMETRIX is applicable to all active instruments.
2. Reversal bars are most commonly determined by a two bar pattern. GEOMETRIX reversal bars are validated
on the close of the bar.
3. Pivot bars. markers and labels are plotted at the close of the bar.
4. GEOMETRIX requires Tick Replay. NT 8 Tick Replay is flawed in that all the data loaded is Tick Replayed.
Inasmuch as, certain indicators require 20 days of tick data, allow sufficient time to accomplish Tick Replay.
