I'm trading spot currencies and this is a futures forum. I'm journalizing here because community is respectful.
I like the idea of day-trading but that's just an idea to me because i have a 9 to 5 (8 to 6 most days) and a family.
I choose to trade because all the experience I've had up until now leads me in this direction. The solitary aspect of trading, the requirement of learning about money and different forms of exchange, the freedom, and most importantly for me is having this skill that only depends on me that i can pass on to another in the next generation of my family.
I make discretionary entries using support/resistance, a little bit of correlation analysis, and some pa. I don't use indicators.
My biggest problem is that i tend to start swinging for the mountains. When this happens i end up giving back some profits. I start to get uncomfortable and stop trading. Haven't busted any accounts but i might as well have since i've missed out on some pretty profitable trading during my off periods. It's all mental and i'm working it out.
If i can take 70 trades in a row (win or lose), no pauses, no outlandish risk adjustments, then i know i've made a breakthrough.
