I have decided to start another journal. I wanted to keep it separate from my futures journal because it would be a big mess trying to do a monthly review if they were merged. Updating my futures journal on a daily basis has helped so much in organizing my thoughts, keeping track on successes, failures, emotions.
I have been playing around with ideas about trading stock options with a technical based scanner for scanner options for years. I read a ton of books by McMillian, Shelley, Hull(too much math) and several others. I have attended and followed George Fontanils and the Optionetics crowd for years. I even tried to write something in Mathematica to help with processing symbols and strikes with no success. I was just recently that I started reading the documentation for Sierra Chart and realized that it has all the scanning stuff built-in and an easy scripting language to access it. I have notebooks I filled with ideas that just ended up on the shelf.
I am going to do my best collect those ideas and implement a medium term(60-120 days) solution across a basket of stocks using my IRA account at TOS. This will only be after I plan, test and create a trading plan for the ideas. So it will be a process before I go live on anything. I'll add the details as I go along since its been a while since I have thought about this. I am not sure how often I'll update it but I think pretty often as I am building the initial framework and then less frequently as I am just keeping track of trades.
