This is my first online trading journal for CL. I've kept a private journal of live and sim trades for about 6 months - all the time flailing around, changing my methods and trying to find an 'edge'. It hasn't been pretty.
So now I'll make my flailing public! :) Maybe someone can learn something.
My Entry Method: Look for divergences in the MACD Lines and price. When a divergence is present, set an entry point 1 tick above (or below) the previous high (or low) and wait for the market to take me into the trade.
Exit: I'm still playing with this. Right now I'm using a +12 tick target for with-trend trades and +9 ticks for counter-trend trades.
Stop: My ATM strategy sets a default stop at -7 ticks so that I am protected immediately upon entering a trade. I often adjust this by hand to be at the level of the previous bar's high (or low). Am I asking for trouble with a stop this close? Probably.
Other notes: I'm only able to trade certain days of the week, and only for about 1 hour in the morning before going to my other job. That's part of why I trade such a small chart - it gives me just one or two setups before I have to stop and work for the man.
I'm in the Pacific Time Zone. That's -3 hours from New York. If you have any questions, ask!
EDIT: (Feb. 2012) I've changed my method a bit to include more price action and less indicators. See This Post ( for more information.
And to kick things off the right way, here's my first trade... Full stop at -7 ticks. (Some extra commentary in the image.)
