Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:

  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

the code trades based on the MAMA FAMA relation. When do you want the strategy to buy and when should it sell short?
If you think it only does the opposite, then change the entry condition. Instead of checking for "If FAMA > MAMA then" for a buy change it to "If FAMA < MAMA then". Do the same for the short entry and you have the entry logic reversed.

Ok thanks again, that worked! it didnt give good results in the long run though

This works very nicely on renko charts.

On a .14 renko chart on crude, in multicharts with a 600 stop and 800 profit tgt, it tested very nicely.
With some optimization, it could work very nicely.

I read about FAMA a few weeks ago, but could not find anything in the Multicharts arena.

thanks for posting this code about the FAMA.

It refers to Fractal Adaptive Mov Avg , right ?

oh, and I changed the < > to a crossing signal which works a little better
