So it seems that MultiCharts is doing some TradeStation hacking with their software. When one configures MultiCharts to use "TradeStation" as one of its data sources, MultiCharts makes an entry in its quote manager about accessing:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\TRADESTATION 8.8\PROGRAM\ORDAM20.DLL"

This is grand and all because MultiCharts essentially can suck higher-resolution data out of TradeStation than it normally gives users. For example, try to export tick data on TradeStation and it will give you minute-stamped crap. Do the same thing in MultiCharts and you get second resolution.

My question is can we hack this DLL to give us millisecond resolution?

This guy seems to have figured something out:

"Also, there are, indeed, ways to handle Trade Station data FROM inside Trade Station with millisecond granularity."

I went through about 1/2 year learning C++ on NinjaTrader 6.5 and also converted to Ninjatrader 7.0 converning my backtesting and getting use to all the indicators. One guy tells me to just use the simple
ones, e.g., moving averages, Close[0] > Close[1] the reverse, etc. I have backtested till my hair is falling out.
But when I put these into SIM101 mode, nothing happens. I once even paid a guy has a business in Florida to
write an easylanguage program on Tradestation and I lost my shirt. Easy language is a misnomer, it's not easy.
I've tried putting some of these program in production in my live account and nothing happens. I had one that came out 100% profitable and nothing happened. If I had an active programmed DLL, wouldn't that be faster. I
saw Big Mike's Blog about he is thoroughly discussed with Ninjatrader. It's not as active as built up to be. I need to program something that closer to the beast! Anyone have any great thoughts? Thanks for your help!

Interesting. Do you know how to use ORDAM20.DLL to retrieve data?
