I want to play with a strategy using the 3 line break bartype, which I apply indicators to, how do you specify the bartype in a strategy for testing can I just do a bartype=10 or does someone have an example?

Thanks,
James

If I am understanding you correctly, then just add the strategy to your Line Break chart and it will use that. You do not need to define the bar type in the strategy code.

On chart:

1. Insert Study
2. Change to Signals
3. Add the Signal(s)
4. Format Signals
5. Properties -> Set your commission and slippage, etc
6. Format -> Set intrabar order generation, etc

Now, from here when you hit Close you can view the performance report by going to "View -> Strategy Performance report" on the main MultiCharts window. Or you can optimize the strategy by clicking Optimize in the Format Signals window.

Both will use the current chart source, instrument, bar type, lookback etc.
