Hey! Is there a way to change the date and symbol on a chart based on EL code?
Hey im trying to change the charts date and symbol by using a list of symbols and stocks from a txt file. I would like it to cycle through each symbol and its correlating date and print something each time
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I am not aware of any EL programming commands to do so.
I think the only way to do this is thru a Windows automation tool like this one : https://www.macros.com/helppro/Index.htm
Your best approach is to call Support for your platform. Your platform has to support the action of EL changing symbol and date (basically opening a new chart). I'm quite sure you will get a negative response. I certainly know of no EL language that will do what you want. I believe that Multicharts.net has some sort of ability like the one you are talking about but I don't use MC.NET so I'm talking out of school.
I think the suggestion of using a 3rd party macro application is your only viable option.
this should be doable using command line commands. The exact approach will depend on the platform you are working with.
One thing to keep in mind when using command line commands is that they will affect the chart that currently has the focus and as far as I am aware, you can not switch the focus programmatically within EasyLanguage or PowerLanguage.
Im using tradestation to do this. Yah I had a feeling that would be the case im okay with it only being on 1 chart without being able to move to another chart. Do you know of a way to go about doing it?
