Why will built-in indicators appear on main chart?
Usually when you add a built-in TradeStation indicator, such as "Floor Trader Pivots," its default option is to "Scale on: Same Axis as Underlying Data" and it will appear on the main chart.
But others, like "Strategy Equity," default to "Scale on: Right Axis Sub-graph: 2" and will appear in a sub-graph.
Also, when I copy-paste the "Floor Trader Pivots" code, word-for-word, into a newly created indicator, and then add this new study, it now defaults to the sub-graph instead of the main chart.
Why? I don't see anything in the code that sets the "scale on" setting. Is there a way to code it? Would be nice if there was.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
you can only specify this on the Scaling tab of the indicator properties, but unfortunately not from the code. If you set this in the development environment for a study it will apply to every new instance to the study that you add to a chart.
Oh cool! Dev Environment: File>Properties>Scaling to set the default graph placement when you add to a chart. Never knew about that.
Thanks again ABCTG.
