I have an existing strategy with entries that fire on limit orders and exits that fire on market orders. I have a situation I would like to add some code for. Let's say I am long in a position and I think I am in the range of closing out and I also have a setup for a short position. Is there a line of code I can add to my system (in this case the short) to close out my current position and allow the short to execute simultaneously? Once it fired, I would have to turn off the first or long code manually I believe.

Thanks in advance for any help given to me.

20YRTRADER,

in general Tradestation will close out an opposite position on the same chart with a new entry. One approach could be to block the market exit order and have the limit order reverse your position. Another approach could be to only issue the new entry order after you are flat again.
Can you elaborate a bit more on what exactly should happen and what you are trying to avoid?

Regards,

ABCTG
