Hi all,

Im running my scripts for over a while and this is working fine. But profits are sometimes to low and risks are a bit high at the moment. If I wash out all the strategies and probability calculations in the scripts the basics investment is like

enter long 100 @ 11000
buy 100 @ 10500
buy 200 @ 10000
buy 400 @ 9500
buy 800 @ 9000

So I double down on a losing trade (this is a formula help request, please dont tell me your opinion about this)

what I’m wondering is instead of these fixed levels with BIG orders, can we exponentially calculate how much to aim for in tinier steps?

e.g instead of these steps:

buy 100 @ 10500
buy 200 @ 10000

it might look like

buy 10 @ 10900
buy 15 @ 10800
buy 20 @ 10700
buy 25 @ 10600
buy 50 @ 10500

by the time we’ve reached 10500, we’ve still bought 100, just in smaller (and exponential) steps.

It would be even nicer if it could dynamically tweak how exponential this is:
buy 5 @ 10900
buy 8 @ 10800
buy 15 @ 10700
buy 25 @ 10600
buy 50 @ 10500

or even smaller steps, instead of 5 steps between 10900 and 10500 (with final goal of 100 total), 10 steps in that range with the same final goal

I can't figure out the formula to get this done. Hope someone can help me with this.

I can't figure out the formula to get this done.

What are you actually trying to get 'done'? You need to define some parameters. For example you could say that I want to buy 100 at 10000, and will add to the position all the way down to 8000/80% of current price at which point I will have bought a total of 1000. With the added condition that every time I add I want the average price of my position to be equal to 50% of my initial entry and 50% of my latest entry.
