Skip historical data in strategy

This might be a simple question but I've not found a clear answer to this and hence, this thread. So I have a strategy and let's say stock X fits the conditions. I want to enter at market and set my profit targets, stop loss etc. So the strategy is semi-automated i.e. I decide when to enter. So I want the strategy to just keep track of profit targets and loss. So my condition to enter is simply "enter at market now". If I enable it on a two day 1 min chart, it thinks it entered yesterday on the first bar at market. So besides using a time and date input (and use today's date and some time in the future as time to enter), is there anything else I can do ?

You don't need the entry part in your strategy, you only need the exit part. Then you need to enable "Adopt the real-world position" under the strategy automation properties.

One very important step is that you refresh the chart after a manual position change. Otherwise the strategy wouldn't be aware of the position change. As this can become annoying you can use a custom strategy called "ContinuousAdoptRealWorldPositionV1" that will make the manual refresh obsolete. You can find this together with instructions on how to set it up in the Tradestation forum.

Excellent. Thank you for the help. This is precisely what I was looking for. Didn't know this was possible. Thanks once again.
