I can respect that.

I don't use any systems that promise anything. Everything about my strategy is my own and is derived from experience. I monitor areas of interest on the 1H/4H charts across 20 pairs including metals so the SMS notifications for areas I don't have pending orders already in prove useful.

Out of interest did you use an IB or straight to LMAX?

Regards,

No I have never used IB. It seems IB's commissions are more expensive and me living UK makes it easier to withdraw money from UK based broker. Also, I am not sure what protection you get in the USA if the broker do a "Man Financial". It is still to be seen if a UK based broker can do the same. So far I have not seen any down time on their platform excluding that at 22.00h everyday they suspend all trading for about 2 min, then it reverts back to normal.
Regards

I on the other hand do use "fancy do the job for me" charts so unfortunately I need them

I've just signed up to LMAX, instant account approval and immediate deposit of funds. Looking good so far.

Regards,

You can trade (manually or automated) LMAX through MultiCharts, which has a free edition (see this thread). That way you can still use your fancy charts with LMAX.

I remember checking out MultiCharts and did not like their Market Profile. Besides it is not free. You get LMAX's feed for free but you pay for the MultiCharts software, either montly or one off.

Yes, if you lease a full MultiCharts license through LMAX. But that's not what I said. You can use your own MultiCharts license with LMAX (which I currently do), which won't cost anything (from LMAX that is, since you'll need to buy a full MultiCharts license).

And if you use the free MC .NET Starter Edition there is, obviously, no need to pay to pay either MultiCharts or LMAX for the license.

Interesting..
Do you by any chance know if the "MC .NET Starter Edition" has any Market Profile enabled and can you use their DOM trader to trade via LMAX, or all the above is only available in the not free but paid MultiCharts version?
Thanks.

DOM trader, yes. Market Profile, I don't know - I don't use those tools. If you read the thread I referred to earlier, you'll see that Arnie says Market Profile is not included by default. You might want to check the MultiCharts forum download section to see if that indicator has been created by someone.

Okay so now I'm with LMAX but they tell me I have to transfer my funds to a bridged account to use MT4. I don't want to do this so can you explain how I can use Multicharts for free just for their feed?

Regards,

lol someone is messing with you; now back to reality...
Dukascopy ranks as one of the brokers with bad execution, really I'm always surprised on how people trade with them...

Well, unfortunately witnessed the same, especially when trying to close profitable positions. That, together with their attitude to change cost structure against existing customers at free will concerning commissions and rebates, inventing some inactivity fee and account support phonecalling when you do not trade, makes them shills. Do your own due dilligance, i'd say Dukascopy is no "trustworthy swiss bank" (if they ever existed), stay away. Closed my account years ago.

Hiya,

How do you compare Dukascopy to IB in overall, swap, slippage, and unwanted spikes?

Tnx and best of luck
