I've never been able to get a consensus from traders about anything.

One man's long is another man's short.

I disagree...

I'm just a simple man trading a simple plan.

Of course, you should know beforehand where/when to enter and where/when you should exit the trend.

You should know beforehand when to exit a trend? That seems to violate the concept of trading with the trend, as you don't know when it's over. If you mean that you trail your stop and place it at a certain place, I understand, but it would seem silly to be in a strong trend trade, in profit, and exit at a certain place without some confirmation of the trend showing strong weakness.

No, silly billy!

You can't know when the trend will end. Of course. But you should have an exit plan in your noggin before you place the trade.

Ok, chilly chilly! ;-)

Well you said you should know when/where to exit, and that sounded like a bit more than an exit plan to me! Anyway, I know what you mean now.

I trend trade. I have an exit plan... when I get an exit signal ...I exit.

As they say

when you are in Long the market goes Short and when you are in Short the market goes Long.

Not sure I understand the problem with strong trends

Damn, you're missing out on price action.
Especially this duck formation here!

From this pattern here, we can observe that the duck is indeed very angry, showing signs of aggression by lowering its neck.

This is a strong sign of a trend reversal as the duck will now raise its head and stand up straight to chase the enemy.
So a bullish trend trend reversal can be seen here.
