I think it depends on your stop loss. When I did trade 6E I was risking 5-7 ticks to make 10-12 ticks of profit. All and all I think the 6E is a great market to trade and has decent volume as well with good liquidity.

Isn't it better and cheaper to trade it as E7?

Maybe ... but maybe only if you ignore or are unaffected by the adverse aspects of worse liquidity, commissions and slippage?

But welcome to futures.io, for sure.

Hello everybody,
What are your thoughts about the best number of ticks used for scalping and swingtrading 6E?

There is no "optimal" and even if there was, markets are dynamic and change; they never stay the same.

If you're looking for a number of ticks to target for scalping and swing trading, this (can) depend on a huge range of factors such as stop size, entry, (swing) rotation sizes, average daily ranges, volatility, time of day (for scalping) etc etc

Whilst I'm sure you mean no harm, it can be dangerous to look at the market from the perspective of "best"; as there are an huge number of ways, techniques, methods and ultimately outcomes in response to what you're looking for.

As an example- there are traders that scalp for 2-4 ticks and others that scalp for 6-10 ticks. In very volatile and fast moving markets, you can easily double and in some instances triple those numbers. The same applies to swing trading.
