T4 tick values?

Hello,
I am a beginner and am having a lot of difficulty understanding tick values on the T4 platform. Each commodity has a different price structure/ladder that has different values for each step, point, tick etc. if I wanted to calculate a corn margin of 2 times margin how do I identify where to put a stop at that level?

Is there a reference sheet someone can share that shows the ladder values that correspond to tick/points? Example I understand that 1 point movement on corn is 50 dollars but when I see the ladder it goes in quarters for the first four ladder movements and then jumps?

It's very confusing for me so if someone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Waseq

It's not related to CTS or any other data provider. The best way for you would be to go through CME website (product you mentioned trades on CBOT which is a part of CME Group). Please refer to the link below to find contract specs for corn

https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/agricultural/grain-and-oilseed/corn_contract_specifications.html

You can find all information you need re contract specification (including tick size), margin requirements etc on the CME webpage

https://www.cmegroup.com/

You may also check ICE website (this is another largest group of exchanges) for their products and information

https://www.ice.com/index

But regarding margin requirements it also would be helpful to check with your broker in case if they have higher "house margin" rates.

Excellent answer from Alphachase, thank you. To understand the corn futures ticks you need to read the last digit as x/8. So if you see a price of 3612 that corresponds to 361 and 2/8 cents. When you see that digit tick up from 0 to 2, 4, 6, then back to 0 it is not a jump in tick size. It is 0/8, 2/8, 4/8, 6/8, 8/8, where 8/8 is adding another full cent which causes the last digit to go back to 0.

Thanks,
CTS
