Recommended Crypto Platform/Exchange to trade the Major ( those with largest Market Caps / Highest traded Volume ) , I.E. BTC, XRP, LTC, ETH, DASH, DOGE, BCH, BTG , etc.

I know this question has been covered , but for 2017 ( really 2018 ) and given that crypto currencies have been out for a good number of years now , I am assuming that only a selected handful of the original Marketplaces/Exchanges of where you can trade the Cryptos are still around and are therefore Trusted and regulated

Some of the ones I have heard about and have researched .......... Coinbase, Bittrex, Kraken, BitStamp, Poloniex, BitFinex and Coinigy

What Exchanges/Websites are others currently trading off of and do you all recommend please ?

Also ,
I am looking for an Exchange/Platform that allows me to look at the various Crypto pairs on a Candlestick chart and with the Daily , Weekly and Monthly time-framed charts available

Thanks so much for the help and advice

I like a number of exchanges:

Centralized Exchanges
- CoinBase (Regulated/US Compliant) my first exchange to buy instantly from my phone... expensive rates but easy
- Gemini (Regulated /US compliant) Trades only two currencies BTC and ETH....Limit orders and market orders available
- GDAX (its a Coinbase exchange regulated and US compliant)
- Binance is a very good platform as well
- Bittrex has loads of coins listed and is a good exchange with good volume
- Might want to stay away from Bitfinex...some possible legal trouble in the future. (Curtesy of OPTIMUS FUTURES Post) https://medium.com/@bitfinexed/wash-trading-bitcoin-how-bitfinex-benefits-from-fraudulent-trading-8bd66be73215

Decentralized exchanges are growing as well...volume is quite low

- EtherDelta is a decentralized exchange where you can buy post-ICO Cr20 tokens and Pre Exchange listed cryptos. Difficult to use and sometimes prices seem higher than those listed on other exchanges.
-Waves

BTW I don't think Coinigy is an Exchange.
- I like Coinigy and subscribed.
- Its a trading Platform with API interface to your exchange... Its like Ninja Trader, Trade Stations
- Newer version to come out in the future
- No ability to build your own indicators (Script Language)

For Alt Coins I mainly trade the Bittrex exchange using the Coinigy Platform. Coinigy has indicators and is easier to use than Bittrex.

Good Coinigy intro with Chris Dunn and Coinigy Rep :

-Tradingview is has charting has a large library of indicators, but no API interface to trade with your exchange. Good for charting and Tech analysis

Crypto Market DATA and Statistics:

- CoinMarketCap.com
here is a link to coin-market-cap trading volume by exchange...https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/

Cheers

If you want trouble free trades/deposits/withdrawals and everything in USD and not Thether go with Bitstamp.

Anybody else have any review that they would be kind enough to share about Gdax?

Thanks

For me No. 1 exchange for trading Cryptos has been Binance in terms of trading, volume, ease of deposits and withdrawals.
Have had problems with Poloniex withdrawals, so I would avoid Polo.
No. 2 is Bittrex

I am using Coinbase Binance and Poloniex. It’s good to open with Coinbase because once you have established BTC as you base currency or Ethereum you can transfer to other exchanges and use those as base currency for ripple or Cardano and other. The other exchanges won’t take USD.

Watch out for 1/26 when the CME FUTURES settle. It may have an effect on the bitcoin prices across the major exchanges. Is anyone watching the volume of these futures contracts? We should post them here

Anyone have newer recommendations on Exchanges?
I'm in the US and many of them don't allow USA traders.

I don't want to use a VPN to 'fool' them so would prefer to have one that is legal or at least is at the moment.

Also, I have an account with Coinbase for a few years but never did much with it. Just to be a place to get my feet wet.

I recently tried Crypto.com (they are questionable US legal... Via app only) So I'm not really comfortable doing a lot with them.

I also have looked at Kucoin but it looks like low volume so may not be a good place to get settled.

Here are others I've looked at:
FTX (but only FTX.us allows USA traders) I'm not sure how deep or how much vol they have on the US exchange)

Bybit is another I need more info about.

I would like something I can trade a lot of different coins but with enough volume not to be stranded in a trade with a big spread because of low volume.

Any other suggestions are appreciated

Use Coinbase Pro, not Coinbase. Cheaper and more for active traders.

Sorry I can't help on the other, except Binance.us but I've only used the real Binance. I like the real FTX the most but I do use Coinbase for regular deposits into my long term wallets.

Basically just use Coinbase to get money in, then transfer it. Check Zerion for latest DeFi offerings if you are looking for bleeding edge.

I too are from the US and from New York...not the best state for Crypto. Even coinbase pro restricts what I can buy. From what I know, US people cannot participate in ICOs and trade perpetual contracts. now with that out of the way, here are a few options.
Depending on state Binance.us and Kraken are options with Binance.US having more altcoins.

Since u looked at Kucoin, you can also look at Coinex and Gate.io...both more for altcoins but not for size. The latter 2 are cheaper to remove crypto to wallet i.e. withdrawal fees
One thing to note that none of these accept FIAT so USD to Coinbase pro, convert to USDC, send USDC to these exchanges, convert to USDT, buy coins....then sell coins and reverse the process is the only way...and it's all legal...at least for now

To start I would look at Binance.US
