I don't know anything about the algo. But, there are various Account Management screens and different ways you can slice and dice portfolios. From the looks of it, the system is ready to manage several dozen or perhaps even hundreds of accounts. Each with a mind boggling array of sub-settings.

I would like to mention that QTrader seems to be getting tricke down enhancements from CQGIC and more may be forthcoming.

I recently found an Option Strategy Builder that I have never seen before. Unfortunately, we still don't have one click spread execution. This is a CQGIC feature.

Does anybody know a back door in Formula Builder tips and tricks to getting around these limitations? I once saw a support tech create a intercommodity spread via Formula Builder and list the custom futures spread into Portfolio Monitor for one click trading and charting. Theoretically, you can do it for options. ie 1 click trading and charting a current month iron condor/strangle. What a convenience that would be.

Unfortunately, I lost the sample when I had to reset.

Try search help window with the following words: trading expression
This will give you some results. But I did never try to trade any spreads on QTrader. And some features found on help page may not work on QTrader b/c they are available on CQG IC only.
Nevertheless building synthetic spreads works, so trading might work too.

Can let me know does there is a function or variable in the custom studies in CQG that would return the previous value of the indicator ?

I would like that have the previous value of the custom study to compare with current value.

I think CQG Q trader may be the best value right now for retail traders period. If you can work with only one chart at a time, then this is your platform of choice.

There's a function available in QTrader called "Analog Chart Overlay" which allows you to kind of work around the single chart limitation.

It can be messy to have more than one market in the same chart area and the process for removing them is a bit cumbersome, but it does the job.

I would like to discuss what helped in your decision making. I am looking to trade an IRA account with many options selling and spread and of course some outright futures trades.. look like this is my best choice.. would like to share experiences

what about backtesting option strategies?
how is the DOM compared to xtrader?
search for brokers with qtrader.. only Amp is free and i cannot do what i want with Amp - suggestions

We provide Q Trader for Options, and what I like about it is the SPAN margin it provides for options selling.
I am not sure how you back test options, but I do not think it is available via QTrader.
From an execution standpoint, it is fast, and what I always liked about all CQG platform is the real-time reporting it has.
The DOM is good, and can display all your options choices.

Consider using just the CQG Trader for your choices, I am not sure what Q Trader provides for the options.

I know we pay 0.25 cents extra for Qtrader per side per contract. Now does this include routing as well? In other words I know from your website calculator is this 0.25 cents the routing fee or would I pay clearing+routing+0.25 cents for Qtrader - seems to be double/triple costs for the same thing

$.25 is the routing. Clearing would be on top.

Qtrader's price was very attractive for me compared to other choices, especially if you compare it with Xtrader.

As matt said, the DOM is quite good. I've seen other people here also commenting on its quality.

There is a 'pseudo-backtesting' option available but I don't know about options. I say 'pseudo' because you can't perform a complete backtesting strategy with it. It just gives you potential returns provided you input the entry signals you want. It's called 'signal evaluator'.

This short video on YouTube shows you the difference in DOM between NinjaTrader, CQG and TT

.......

In the end, it comes to display appeal between CQG and TT. They are both very good, and have servers worldwide.
Very strong in the area of technology and support.

There is "X Trader Platform", and now TT also has the "TT Platform" which is web based.
It is a great option for trader due to its charting and its a major improvement in my opinion over X Trader.
https://www.tradingtechnologies.com/platforms/tt-platform/ watch the Vid at the bottom of the page.

Both CQG Trader and TT Platform have mobile access.
