Hi, I trade FX through MB Tradings ECN Forex account but I'm new to all things Futures. I trade full time on 3-5 min TF mostly eur-usd, eur-jpy, gpg-usd and the DAX. Being in the UK and trading forex I can trade the UK open and the UK/US overlap for my 8.00 am to 4.00 pm trading day. These two bursts of volatility (UK morning and US open) provide me normally with good moves.

I'm at the stage of transitioning from the spot forex market to the Futures environment and the CL info on the forum has made me interested to learn more about CL and Futures in general. It looks like an instrument that needs to be treated with care but if handled right could be rewarding. I'd appreciate some help on a few questions:

1. With MB I can get normally around 0.8 - 1.2 spread on the eur-usd during the 2 liquid time periods mentioned above. What is the normal (I realise it will fluctuate) spread for CL during its most traded times? Can you usually buy inside the spread using limit orders (this is something I'm gettting usd to as with spot forex I never did this)?

2. What's the best time to trade CL to get good volatility. Does the UK forex open and the US forex open coincide with CL's liquid times ?

3. With FX I check the forex factory for any important news announcement’s, is there a day or certain time I need to be aware of regarding news with CL.

I have some general Futures broker related questions but I’ll post then in the relevant section. I have read lots of CL posts already and tried the search but I couldn’t find the answers I was looking for. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me, its appreciated.
