Sugar is the most liquid of the softs contracts with about 50,000 contracts traded per day. So it is about comparable to 6S, SI, ZL or DX.

Does anybody trade this market?

Does Nybot still have a floor trading operation, and do floor trading hours still have an impact on price?

I mean, what would be an opening period for SB?

I am not asking about the electronic trading hours, which can be easily found on the ICE website.

It is one of the more liquid futures contracts, but maybe not so interesting for day traders.

I would be more inclined to trade this instrument if I didn't have to pay the TS data fees. Currently, I'm paying for COMEX and NYMEX and I'm thinking about adding CME for the currencies. Adding ICE/NYBOT just isn't high on my priorities. However, this is one instrument I've been watching for a while.

I traded it over last few month. It's an absolute trending market.
But: 1 Tick 11.20 $ and a good stopp takes 40-50 ticks and more. you see expensive.
works perfect in hourly/daily for trending.
I think I have a similar trading strategie ( HH, HL, LL, ) as BM.
I trade on naked barchart, only sometimes with supertrend as volatility-stopp.

here the trading hours. (ET+6)
Mo. - Fr. 03:30 - 14:00
Preopen 20:00
In the next traders magazine ( 01/2011 ) there were published an article of my strategy trading SB.

I you trade via Ninja you have to purchase an extra ICE historicla data feed, leike kinteck, barchart and so on. Zenfire only has the tick, nothing more. no historical data, nothing.

I like SB. best time to trade is from 14:30 till 20:00 ( European time )

SB made a new 30-year high yesterday. Today it dropped over 10%.

Looks like we have seen a top.

As there are many trend followers, the drop after the peak occurs in a violent fashion to trap as many of them as possible.

Thanks to the OP for this. Could be a wonderful edition to my diet of markets to feast on.

Open outcry from 8:30 to 12:30 ET.

That's not unusual behavior.
It's a correction to 50%.
Have a close look in the past.

Ninja doesn't support this instrument with TT.

In fact, the ONLY instrument NT supports on Nybot/ICE with TT is TF.

Strange, did you check the instrument settings? And what the hell is TL?
